David R. Holland:
Senior Writer
David R. Holland has been a senior writer for TravelGolf.com since 1998, and he was named "Writer of the Month" by INCA Golf in June 2001. A former sportswriter for The Dallas Morning News and the Waco Tribune-Herald, Holland's golf writing credits include The International, the British Open, Colonial, Byron Nelson Classic, AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, and LPGA events.
Holland is the author of The Colorado Golf Bible (www.coloradogolfbible.com), a comprehensive travel guide to golf in the Centennial State. His freelance credits include Golfweek's Superintendent News, 5280, Estates West, Distinction and others. He also worked for the Dallas Cowboys Weekly, United Press International (Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks) and Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Holland was owner and publisher of Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Football Magazine from 1978 to 1991. He has a journalism degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He is also an Air Force Reserve retiree, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in Public Affairs at the Pentagon-level. He was on active duty during the Vietnam conflict and Desert Storm.
