Great course, no amenities
Course is in great shape, fast pace of play, pins put in tough spots, very enjoyable round. However, only a trailer with minimal food and drink….. not a sandwich to be had anywhere. Seems ridiculous for such a nice, popular course. Beware and come prepared.
Know before you go
Booked the course via Golf Now. My drive was 45 miles. When I went to register, after warming up for 90 minutes, they told me I would not get a cart, despite the fact that the price included a cart. I didn't have a pull cart, or the right shoes. Plus, they didn't even have water or a beverage cart on the course. Course good, service not so good.
Great course. Needs a proper clubhouse
I love this course however they really need to upgrade their facilities. They don't have any actual restrooms or a clubhouse. This course gets a lot of play and would greatly benefit by having an actual place to eat and use the restroom.

Course in gr8 shape!!! Grounds crew doing ge8 job maintaining
Fun round just too slow
Another fun round just too slow. It was end of day so the greens were a little beat up but that’s to be expected when you follow a junior tournament.
Forcing Shared carts with strangers is a bad idea
I understand why the club wants to have a policy of shared carts. They have a shortage perhaps? But forcing a policy to share carts is a bad idea - I was forced to share a cart with a stranger who was just a terrible person. He was constantly talking, unhappy, throwing his clubs around, and overall not a pleasure to play with. This needs to change - I have a solutions — get more carts!!!
I enjoy Olivas Links, fairways are pristeen, greens are receptive and overall the ball rolls where you aim!
People are friendly. I've played there several times, usually with my wife riding along and everyone we have played with has been very nice, polite and friendly.
Most of course good. Greens inconsistent.
Most of the course is good. Solid grass everywhere. And they are taking care of the GUR areas with white lines and markers clearly indicating them as such, which is really nice to see, that is supposed to be done at every course!
The only inconsistency was the greens. Some were normal, others were firm and cut a bit thin, and yet some others were not cut and a bit spongy. They were hit or miss.
I always wish the place would have real grass range all the time…..
Top notch
Played on Saturday following 2 tournaments. Conditions of the greens could have been better..
no cart girl driving around . Came back on Monday to play again. Wow what a difference a day makes. Greens were cut and rolled. Fairways mowed. My guests both on Saturday and Monday loved the layout and conditions for the most part just not as much for the Saturday group…. For me, one of my personal favorites in SoCal… cheers
Simple elegance
Played here afternoon time, winds very much in play, fairways very nicely maintained, greens were fast but a little sticky on some holes, overall the greens were in great shape and rolling true.
Links courses should play like this, and being close to the ocean gives the feel of being somewhere other than SCalifornia.
Definitely a keeper!
You are going to lose golf balls on this course unless you are a good player. When the wind howls (which is always) this course is a beast. Do not look for every errant ball for 5 minutes. If you do not see it sitting up in the hay it's going to be an unplayable lie and you will be dropping. So just drop. If you cannot afford to not look for your golf balls as if they were made of gold I would not recommend this course for you. If you cannot control your ball flight this course will eat you alive. Putt instead of chip around the greens.
