Practice With a Purpose!
Friday March 30, 2007 | 16:28:17 367 words, 4383 views
I am always amazed and mesmorized by watching golfers on the practice tee. I have come to the conclusion, after many years of watching players practice, that there are two types of people on the range….the ones that are trying to practice what they’ve been taught and those that simply are there to entertain themselves. I can tell you this…some can certainly entertain ME! But HEY….there is nothing wrong with people entertaining themselves at a golf range…as long as they know that is their purpose for being there.

The Truth about Putting
Saturday March 24, 2007 | 21:33:22 371 words, 4625 views
How many ways can a person putt!? MANY! Noted putting gurus like Dave Pelz have spent their life studying the physics, laws, by-laws, in-laws, and art of putting. Which way does the green slope, is it uphill or down hill, what kind of putter should I use, where do I position the ball in my stance, what kind of ball should I use…a pink one or one that has red writing on it, how hard do I hit it, and who’s on first base? Good grief!
With all these thoughts in your mind, who can ... full post »

WHAT DO YOU WANT GOLF TO BE FOR YOU? I often hear from women, “my husband/boyfriend wants me to practice, practice, practice. . .and he wants me to be competitive! I don’t want to practice.. .I don’t want to compete! I want him to lighten up!” On the same hand I hear from men, “Beverly, you’ve got to get my wife/girlfriend to practice more, play in tournaments, and get better.” My answer to both parties is: Golf is only fun if you are playing within Your Own Style. ... full post »
Golf Etiquette: watch your manners on the golf course...cause somebody's watching you!

Are you the golfer who races to the first tee, screeching on the brakes of the golf cart, bending over to tie your shoes, and then saying “anybody have a ball I can use?” Ever heard of golf protocol or etiquette? Reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield in the film, Caddyshack. If you are this type of player, let me tell you, you will not win friends on the golf course with that kind of behavior! In fact, you’re lucky if anyone will ever play golf with you!
How you behave on the golf course is a direct reflection on YOU. ... full post »
Tip: Get more out of your golf lessons, do your homework!

You pay money for golf lessons. You’ve invested in your golf game. Why not do what your instructor is asking you to do? Do you say, “it feels awkward and I don’t like that feeling?” Do you not believe or trust what the instructor is telling you? Do you say, “I’m fixed…yea!” and go on the course immediately after a lesson? BAD GOLF STUDENT!
When Tiger Woods needed to make necessary swing improvements, his ranking on the PGA Tour probably moved down to #8. After a year of working on the improvements, he was back to #1. Why is it ... full post »
