Tip: Get more out of your golf lessons, do your homework!

You pay money for golf lessons. You’ve invested in your golf game. Why not do what your instructor is asking you to do? Do you say, “it feels awkward and I don’t like that feeling?” Do you not believe or trust what the instructor is telling you? Do you say, “I’m fixed…yea!” and go on the course immediately after a lesson? BAD GOLF STUDENT! When Tiger Woods needed to make necessary swing improvements, his ranking on the PGA Tour probably moved down to #8. After a year of working on the improvements, he was back to #1. Why is it that amateurs think that they can take one lesson and have the magic cure!? All golfers have to EARN the right to play better. Are you willing to take regular lessons instead of taking one a year? Are you willing to stick with what you are trying to LEARN? Are you willing to trust the teacher? Or are you the one who is the “traveling student” … taking a lesson from one teacher and when it doesn’t work right away you go to another teacher… then another teacher? Sticking to what it is you’re trying to learn is the key to improvement. If you’re confused, tell your instructor! Confusion is the fastest route to misery! Be a good student and be patient with yourself and GIVE IT TIME! This game can bring you to your knees, so while you’re down there, ask how you can be a better student!
