It is with much sadness that I report the news that TravelGolf.com blogger Cheap Bastard has apparently perished, after the boat he was traveling on to Zimbabwe was attacked by pirates. Cheap Bastard, whose real name was Percy Ramirez-Epstein, reportedly stowed away on a cargo boat heading to the African nation. Sources close to WorldGolf.com have told us the boat was raided by pirates off the coast of Florida. Everyone on the boat survived the raid, except for Percy. Sadly, wildfires are destroying a great deal of land and homes throughout Southern California with reportedly up to 700 homes lost. Here are some blogs reporting on the fires, particularly in relation to golf courses.
