Players want a challenge while golf's silly season gets even sillier

Geoff Shackleford has a nice breakdown of a Golf Channel show about where golf will be in 2025. It appears course managers want to add more distance, while players like Mark O’Meara just think many courses need to be made more difficult for the pros.

“Narrow it by more tree lined golf courses, because the big guys can play out of the rough, but they can’t play out of the trees,” O’Meara said. “More tree-lined, smaller greens, more rough around the greens. So if you miss the green it’s more penile. Not necessarily is lengthening the right answer.”

Unwilling to replace his Mizuno’s, Grouchy got himself some “Laquer-Stik Fill-In Paint” to make his clubs look new. They do look new, but Grouchy seems pessimistic if the treatment will last.

Meanwhile, Bogey McDuff is going reality-show crazy, with blogs on both the People Vs. The Pros and Big Break IV. Golf’s silly season is just getting sillier and sillier I suppose.

"So if you miss the green, it's more penile"? I think you meant "penal". I don't even want to speculate on what you were thinking about ....

Hmmm. The dangers of cut and pasting. Well, if Geoff Shackleford says Mark O'Meara said "penile" then who am I to correct it.

I'm hurt that you'd think anything salacious of it. I'm a sweet, English girl strolling through the forest. Remember that. I may have to access a penilty against you, Shanks.
