You are the most pathetic writer Ive ever come across. Have you ever seen Wie play? She is 16 and better than any other golfer to ever live at 16 years of age. She will win plenty and will probably compete with the men at some point so give it a rest and sit back and watch something that only comes along once in a very long while.

Here's a dose of reality for you: Bubbles isn't the "best 16-year-old golfer to have ever lived." For one thing, the best 16-year-old boys today are better than she is.

By the way, 15-year-old Tadd Fujikawa made the US Open cut, Bubbles didn't. The youngest player to ever make a PGA Tour cut was a 15-year-old boy; Bubbles is 16 and still hasn't accomplished that feat.

So the distance between genius and stupidity narrows even further. Golfer, obviously not, Hawking should stick to his knitting. Michelle Wie is a better distraction than the killing fields of Iraq. Obviously American needs a good distraction to keep it together for another hundred years. Besides, didn't our Moon Boys play golf "out in space" immediately after landing. I think Brandon was just trying to make a point when he "expanded" on Hawking's interesting question, posed officially on Yahoo Questions. The actual Hawking question doesn't mention Wie.

But okay, so all we hear about is Wie. Wie, Wie, Wie. Who should WE blame? Michelle? Or promoters? Maybe the distance is narrowing between the LPGA and American Idol.

Actually Tadd missed the cut at the US Open by 9 shots.

What you meant was he made it to the US Open, which is fairly irrelevant to this discussion, given that he was in an easier qualifier.
They did play the local qualifier together, and Michelle beat Tadd by 2 strokes to WIN that local qualifier.

Fujikawa was playing against a MUCH tougher field on a much tougher course. There's no comparison.

And, yes, Johnny, I wrote that incorrectly; I should have said "qualified." Also, I'm aware of what their scores were relative to each other in that local qualifier. But my point emerges unscathed: he's a year younger, and there's every reason to believe that he is at least her equal on the course. And he's not even the equivalent of the best 16-year-old boys.

You see, kid, I suppose we'll never know how a Tadd Fujikawa currently stacks up against the illustrious Bubbles because, since he was born with the wrong chromosome configuration, he won't be offered endless sponsor's exemptions into PGA events.

If the young man skips college basketball, it is because at every competitive level he has DOMINATED those around him. We aren't talking about winning, we are talking total, utter domination. Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, LeBron James, and Kevin Garnett had full trophy cases before they ever turned pro.

Michelle Wie has never dominated at any level, amateur (mens or womens) junior (mens or womens), or pro (mens or womens). Seems to me that if you want to skip a level of competition, especially if you want to skip all the way up to competing with the worlds best of the best, you should have some skins on the wall FIRST!

It was almost more than I could bear having to listen to Nick Faldo explain to the Golf Channel audience that yes, it is indeed HARD to play PGA golf, and that despite how it might seem, that you just can't show up with golf clubs and expect to play against these pros.
