I’ve learned two valuable tidbits of information over the past week while enjoying spirits with friends. One: if your French girlfriend or wife tells you she’s taking off to Senegal for the weekend, be very suspicious. Two: You can get free TV on your computer.
“Free TV on the Internet!?!?” you ask? “Tell me more!!”
Sure. “TVU” is a free download for your computer that allows you to watch a couple dozen TV channels from all over the world, including ESPN, Comedy Central, NBC, Telemundo and NASCAR Brazil.
Is it legal? I think so, says something about “patent pending". One bummer about it however is it doesn’t get ABC, meaning I’ll have to likely buy the Michigan-OSU GAME OF THE MILLENIUM this saturday on Gameplan.
For all of you business travelers often stuck in a hotel with horrible channel selection or are overseas where ESPN is replaced by Sky Network that shows non-stop (gulp) “football” highlights, definitely check this out if you can’t live without SportsCenter or South Park.
The quality isn’t exactly HD, but it sure beats watching ESPN Gamecast or worse reading.
To download, go to TVUnetworks.com or www.download.com
