Win a free golf book!

So, here I am: BLOGGING! Before I get this thing rolling, I want to introduce myself. I’m going by my pen name Original Cheap Bastard, because that’s what the guys I golf with always call me. But you know what, there’s not a damn thing wrong with driving with range balls (why send a good ball into OB land?) and bringing my own beer to the course. And I ain’t in any hurry to give up my persimmon Hogans just because Tiger plays something “better.” Anyway, I’m not using my real name here because I have a sweet gig with a pretty big golf management company and I spend most of my time at work surfing for sweet deals – and now writing about them.

You want to talk cheap – you ought to see what these losers are paying me to write this blog. Let’s just say I’ll be able to finally buy some new golf tees but I won’t stop buying X-outs any time soon. Anyway here’s the deal. I, dear readers, will feed you with cash-saving tips I find …… your job is to send me some in return. So here goes. My first tip for you —

Clip those coupons. While the Original Cheap Bastard agonizes over shelling out the 35 to 50 cents required to purchase the local paper, the big investment pays off.

In golf tourist havens like Phoenix and Myrtle Beach, you can often land a half-price round just by going to the local newsprint. On second thought, swipe the paper from Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts. Fools leave them just lying around. What? A jelly stain ain’t worth your 50 cents!
