Ebay: A cheap Calloway Big Bertha (and other golf treasures) awaits
One of my forefathers, the late, great Leopold C. Bastard, was involved
in the purchase of Manhattan from the native population. He never got
over the loss of so many beads. It was a blight on the Bastard family
name, honestly.
Which is another reason I work so hard to find you the best deals and give you the
best advice I can. Call it Bastard Pride, if you will.
So here’s a tip for the day: Ebay. I just took a look and it seems as
though ol’ isoldit.ca022 is tired of having a Calloway Big Bertha
six-iron lying around the house. With about a day available in the
auction, the bidding is up to just $19.99.
All I did was go to Ebay, run a search for “Golf” in the Sporting goods
section, and I got nearly 50,000 different items for sale, including a
three-pak of Nike golf gloves for just $8.50. But don’t get stuck on
just Ebay. There are plenty of other auction sites out there: Yahoo,
Ubid and Amazon all have heavily trafficked auction sites where you can
find everything from replacement clubs to golf carts.
So if you’re willing to put off the instant gratification of walking
into a store and getting what you want now, online auctions are a great
place to look. If only Uncle Leo had something like them available back
in the day, us Bastards would be still be rich with beads.
