Santee, South Carolina is not to be compared to Myrtle Beach golf
Hey, I’m an expert on budget golf. I pinch pennies. I pinch waitresses in the arse. I am proud to walk in with a coupon to get myself a deal.
Santee, South Carolina is basically a bunch of chuck holes on wide-open fields that they refer to as golf courses. The strippers remind me of Tonya Harding, but with a few more pounds. They’re like Chevrolets with a lot of mileage that have seen a lot of car lots.
Santee will tease you with $48 specials that look good. Hey if all you require is a field with 18 holes in it and you do not care that there is NOTHING to do in this town, then play it. Santee is warm and the people are friendly. These advertised lead-ins do not include breakfast and they are based on double occupancies. For very little more, you can have a better deal in Myrtle Beach. And Myrtle Beach has so much more to offer!
Santee is trying to market itself as an alternative to Myrtle Beach. Sorry. They shouldn’t be talking about themselves in the same breath. Santee is cheap golf. It’s not good golf just like those Tonya Hardings who undulate in front of rednecks are not really dancers.

There are 18 golf courses within 45 minutes of Santee. Santee Cooper Lakes offers the finest fishing in the country known throughout the world. The hunting in Santee Cooper Country is boundless with deer. There are many shops. Elloree, just 7 miles from Santee is full of antique shops and holds a sidewalk sale every 2nd Saturday of the month.
And yes, for those who are interested there is plenty of night-life. By your descriptions- you've never been here before. Maybe you should write about what you know instead of wasting peoples time reading your inaccurate column.
