A Grande Pines G.C. mea culpa - reader hips the Bastard to even cheaper Orlando golf

The Cheap Bastard is never wrong, he just has a unique philosophy on
correctness. Still, after reading yesterday’s tip for bargain golf in Orlando, an alert reader directed me to Golf407.com, where a quick search
showed you can save an additional 29 percent at Grande Pines Golf Club during off hours (after 2 p.m.).

The Cheap Bastard is usually well into the 19th hole by 2 p.m., but the
advice seems sound, especially if you want to play Grande Pines for just
$30.

Meanwhile, lots and lots of Florida tracks offer discounts for residents of the Sunshine State – just present a Florida driver’s license and - voila! - you save some dough. If you spend a lot of time down there, consider getting yourself a license. It’s easy.

I believe the comments about obtaining a Florida Drivers License are misleading. One must own property in Florida and show proof of this in order to get a license or Florida ID card. Leave the Florida resident discounts to the ones who truly derserve them- people who live and work in Florida. I'm not going to travel to another city and attempt to get discounts that I am not entitles to receive.

You have to OWN PROPERTY to get a drivers license -- that's rich! Guess again, M. Walker. Surely you must know how many transients without a pot to pi$$ in are driving around the Sunshine State, clogging your highways and byways. You're telling me every beat-up '79 Vega from Panama City to Key West is being driven by someone who owns property? The question is WHERE ..... the Cheap Bastard wants to score some cheap land too, before it's all gone.
