Retirement leads to unbelievable golf equipment deals
The Cheap Bastard was once the CEO of his own company, “Toys for Tarts.” Sadly, it was much too progressive an idea to really catch on.
However, Mike Byers enjoyed a decade as the owner of BT Proshop in Columbus, Ohio, and has decided to retire and close up shop. And Mr. Byers’ retirement could be a boon to golfers and golf collectors, as he’s allocated his son and namesake to liquidate his impressive collection of clubs, both new and old.
“My wife and I are in our 60s and we decided it was time to start trying to just enjoy life,” said Byers Sr. “I’ve been a collector for about 30 years and have about 800 hickory clubs. I’ve got a very nice collection.”
So Byers Jr. sent over a list of wholesale products that they have in stock to your friendly Cheapster, and I knew it was worthy of being passed on. Now here comes the part where I tempt you with the deals:
Callaway 2 Ball Putter: $85
Adams Redline RPM Composite Driver 460 CC: $160
Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Newport II putter: $175
Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport 2.5 putters: $100
Taylor Made 540XD Demo Drivers: $100
Bob Toski Woods: from $10.00 (1, 3, and 5 woods)
Byers’ stock ranges from new to used with collectibles as well as club components, grips, etc. It’s quite the impressive collection of golf equipment, and they want to blow it out. You can buy single clubs, sets, or buy in bulk, and Byers Jr. gave me the impression that hagglers are welcomed, and that he’ll do whatever he can to keep delivery rates low.
If you’d like to get more information, shoot an e-mail over to Mike Jr at: mikebyers1@alltel.net He’ll gladly send you a list of what he has to offer. Also, they’ll be promoting these sales at the soon-to-be-running Web site: Vintage Golf Collection.
