The Cheap Bastard wishes someone told him to work out after taking huge amounts of steroids. So while El Cheapo can’t hit a baseball like Barry Bonds, he can eat an entire caribou in one sitting.

Coming from the West Coast, your pal Cheap is used to needing a wallet on steroids to get into a decent amusement park. There are places like Bisneyland (name changed for legal reasons) where it costs an arm, leg and half a liver to get in. Then they pluck a few hairs out of your nose just to show they can.

But on the other end of this great land is the Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park. There, they know how to give good ride and not destroy your college funds while doing it. Some bad news, however: 2006 will be its final year.

The MB Pavilion will be closed, along with The Attic – Myrtle Beach’s only non-alcoholic teen nightclub.

In the upcoming weeks, they’ll be announcing a “One Last Time” farewell campaign and other events at the Pavilion, which has a history of having burned down twice and has operated as an amusement park for more than 50 years.

Here’s a deal you can jump on now, however: Get the single park pass for three and get one free. It will be good from March 1 to May 31 and run $175.00, but will keep four kids very happy. Or four playful adults. Or one Cheap Bastard with the riding and eating power of four humans.
