The Cheap Bastard refuses to play golf with anything except his top-of-the-line Callafay clubs. And no, that’s not a typo. They’re exactly like real Callaways except for head, shaft, grips, box they come in, reputation and performance. They even smell kind of like an old, wet duck, but let me tell you, they’re cheap.

But if you’re like the Cheaperino and would love to play with Callaways but also love to afford rent and food, here’s a place to visit. It’s called Callaway Golf Preowned and, well, the title says it all.

Right now I’m looking at their Big Bertha Titanium 454 Driver, which I can get from them for about $180, half the suggested retail price. And if for some reason I don’t like it, they will buy it back, no questions asked.

If you’re already a blessed soul that’s a Callaway club owner, you can also try their “Trade in! Trade up!” program. You can also take a look at their clearance section, where I found that Big Bertha driver for less than $170.

Remember people, if you want to be the best, you need to play the best. Now it’s time for me to grab my new Titlost golf balls and hit the links.
