The Cheap Bastard is unlike many Americans in that he knows his geography. That’s because as a little Bastard, he paid attention in school.

That’s why I know the exact location of Barbados. It’s in the West Indies, between Costa Rica and Aruba, and right near countries like Denmark, Ethiopia and France. Unless I’m getting geography confused with alphabetizing things. Then never mind.

Speaking of Barbados, however, Elegant Hotels Group recently announced a selection of summer discounts to head to one of their five properties down there: The Colony Club Hotel; Crystal Cove Hotel; Turtle Beach Resort; Tamarind Cove, and The House.

Right now you can get deals of up to 30 percent off to stay at their deluxe resorts. Golfers can cash at the Colony Club Hotel, where guests get preferred tee times at the Royal Westmoreland Golf and Country Club among other things for between $250-$400 a night for a double.

So check out Elegant Hotel’s Web site to find the best Barbados deal for you, or call (800) 467-4519. Not only will they be glad to help, but they’ll also draw you a map so that you can get there.

Wow, with your sense of geography, your teachers should have been slapped.
