The Cheap Bastard is struggling to overcome his latest breakup. She was everything a frugal guy could want: she only ate at cheap buffets, she wore only “vintage” clothes, she rarely bathed, so we saved tons of money on shampoo and soap. But in the end, she said yours truly didn’t have the equipment to satisfy her.

Luckily for me, and you, getting new equipment is easier and cheaper than ever right now. I found a good story from KETV.com that said right now is the time to get deals on golf equipment, as it’s out with the old, in with the new at most golf equipment stores.

“September is huge, because you’ll see in September – mainly the first two to three weeks in September – we’ll start to cycle out all the old and cycle in all the new for fall,” said Golf Galaxy General Manager Matt Felmet in Omaha.

“Our ‘06 inventory needs to be cleared out, our ’07’s are here,” said sales manager Vito Agosta. “We have some already and we don’t have anywhere to put them.”

That’s right, kids, the ’07’s are here! The ’07’s are here! So if you’re anything like me, that means it’s time to buy the ’06’s. So happy hunting, while your buddy Cheap looks for just the right equipment to help get back with my ex. Maybe a new sand wedge will be the trick. She did mention my short game needed some work.
