The Cheap Bastard loves California wine country. The rolling hills, the pristine air, the hookers. Ok, you got me, I don’t know the first thing about California’s wine country. But El Cheapo does like wine, and would even just eat grapes if God could figure out a way to up the alcohol content of those little buggers.

Still, there are plenty of drunken duffers out there who would love nothing better than to have a vacation that requires both a caddie and a sommelier. Well, for you, Napa Valley’s Silverado Resort has dropped prices on two of its golf packages through Feb. 28.

First, there’s the Golfer’s Dream Package, which includes accommodations and 18 holes of golf for two including cart. The package is $199 per night Sunday through Thursday nights and $279 per night Friday and Saturday.

Then there’s the Spa Girl Package, which includes accommodations, a 50-minute spa treatment, breakfast, use of spa facilities and tennis courts, wine tasting, canvas tote and gift certificate for the spa shop and goes for $225 per person per night.

So, for those of you looking to enjoy the best wine country California has to offer, head over to the Silverado Resort Web site, or call (800) 532-0500.
