Listening to golf podcasts impossible with abysmal COBY headphones
Friday March 9, 2007 | 09:35:56 266 words, 5320 views
The Cheap Bastard loves nothing better than to kick back and listen to golf podcasts like TravelGolf.com This Week, Sweet Spots and Golf for Beginners. Seriously, where else can you listen to Ron Mon drone on for hours about whatever it is Ron Mon drones on about? The problem is this: El Cheapo can’t find the perfect headphones. You know, ones that combine quality and low price. Normally, I end up getting burned. Like recently I bought a simple pair of headphones from COBY for next to nothing. It was then that I found out that COBY is actually an acronym for “Broken Out of the Box” (aside from sucking at making electronics, COBY also sucks at acronyms). Take a look at all the marvelously crappy headphones COBY has to offer here. This is the second consecutive time COBY has let me down with shoddy merchandise. Sure, I could call them up and try and get a refund or a new set of headphones, but judging on how they manufacture electronics, I’m highly doubtful that they’ve mastered the art of communication. So the question remains - where to get good headphones at a low price. Readers, I implore you, help a Cheap Bastard find this holy grail. All I do is give and give and give to you people, so now it’s your turn. Give your Royal Cheapness and the Bastardites (I’m working on coming up with a name for my readers) the lowdown on which brand of headphones you think offer the most bang for the buck. Don’t even think about bringing up COBY, however. Comments:

The headphones I use came with my iPod. Frankly, they're terrific, but the iPod certainly isn't cheap.
Thanks for listening!

What? Your headphones can't pick up Golf Gear News? Must be a pretty bad pair of headphones if it can't do that.
