SoCal's Crazy Golf Pricing

Anyone who’s been to SoCal recently realizes that many of the golf courses think everyone is a movie star. Or at least on a movie star’s generous payroll.
Some of these courses are getting as overpaid as Latrell Sprewell. Which is what makes a course like Barona Creek, in the shadow of San Diego, such a deal. This isn’t the best course you will ever play. It’s not worthy of some of the crazy pub it’s been getting as a Top 20 Resort Course. My fellow blogger Matt rails against celebrity golfers by moaning about watching, “some overweight multi-quadjillionaire blade his fifth out of the sand over the green, prompting a temper tantrum.” One problem. I can’t figure out if he’s talking about Chris Berman, John Daly or Craig Stadler.
Which is the point.

A lefty Who Doesn't Love Lefty

I have a confession to make. A shocking admission really. I’m a lefty and I don’t worship Lefty. That’s right, Phil Mickelson is just another golfer to me, despite our amazing bond of holding a pen in the same hand.
This may not seem like a big deal to some. But to anyone who’s ever listened to other left-handed golfers, including a few who blog here right alongside me, would know this could be construded as heresy. Most of us left-handers love Lefty. Because well…he’s lefty.
