Vijay Messes With Mickelson's Masters mind

Vijay Singh may sometimes make Barry Bonds look like a nice guy by comparision (hear Vijay call his old caddie a drunk, etc…) But no one can doubt how intelligently and ruthlessly cunning Singh is.

Not after what he did to Phil Mickelson at the Masters. Vijay messed with Phil’s already fragile mind by accusing the defending Masters champ of ripping up the greens at Augusta. Singh claimed that the metal spikes on Mickelson’s new Callaway golf shoes were “unduly damaging the greens,” brought it up to a rules official and had to grin glare when he heard that Phil was stopped on the 13th fairway to have said spikes inspected.

And you still don’t think Mickelson is mentally fragile? It’s apparent, plenty of Phil’s competitors do.

It seems awfully coincidental that Vijay called out Phil on an equipment issue no less (remember the Ryder Cup?) Could it be that Singh recognized a threat that could be shaken and stirred right out of his game? Mickelson made sure to let the press know how he “confronted” Vijay.

Meanwhile, Vijay walked off the course with his usual no comment, probably smiling (or at least frowning happily inside) at having taken another jab at kicking up the doubts in Mickelson’s head.

It looks to me like you should focus more on Vjay's poor sportsmanship to dream up unnecessary concerns.
