Does liberal bozo bore Al Franken have any fans? One even? Rush Limbaugh is laughing

I knew Al Franken was no Rush Limbaugh in terms of moving the dial. But this is getting ridiculous …

After seeing the reaction to both TravelGolf.com’s Limbaugh and Franken interviews, you could only assume that Rush is even more influential than he boasts of being while Al intrigues people about as much as their pool guy.

Limbaugh catches Time magazine’s attention, brings tons of comments. Franken … well, there’s rumor that a paper from Lost Springs, Wyoming - population three - didn’t think anything Franken says is worth noting.

Seriously. You can still be the first to comment on Tim McDonald’s excellent interview with Franken, here. Just don’t be alarmed if you hear crickets when you open the story.

This all has given me new confidence in the human race. People really do seem to grasp what an utter snooze Franken is. As I’ve said before, this guy is a failed comedian who became political because he needed a niche to dreg up a career. He certainly couldn’t get by on being funny. Or interesting.

The Democrats need to recruit Chris Rock. Immediately. When Franken’s your voice, you’re lucky if a few guys in the mental institution tune into his radio show in their heads.

Franken professes to having been a caddie in his youth. But reading McDonald’s interview, you get the idea he couldn’t tell you who won the Masters.

I’d love to hear from someone he caddied for in the old days. Of course, that would be assuming that they didn’t keel over in boredom by the turn. And that’s a big assumption.

Dad was living such a full life. Until that Al Franken caddied for him. His heart must have just lost the will to keep ticking.

Chris Baldwin, who is the hell is Chris Baldwin? And Why, if he is indeed a golf person, is Chris Baldwin commenting on Franken/Limbaugh type politics? How does your wife Mr. Baldwin, if you have one, feel about being called a femi-nazi? This kind of women just lays down quietly to be serviced. Certainly not a woman that thinks and can golf too! The man is just offensive and I believe there are a lot of "wacko's" in this country that listen to him. I prefer the truth! Thank you Al Franken.

I can't disagree with Chris about Franken. He stinks as a radio talk host. Franken reached the pinnacle of his career as a writer on "Saturday Night Live" in the early days. And his stuff really was funny at times. I can't listen to him on the radio. In fact, of all the liberal radio hosts, the best, smartest and most consistently probing is Jesse Jackson, of all people.

If Jesse Jackson is the best, smartest and most consistently probing of all liberal radio hosts, the liberals, or progressives as they like to be called, may as well throw in the towel. Jesse has made too many gaffes to mention them all here, but my favorite blunder by Jesse was made during his Presidential bid in the '80's. As a Democrat, he was making a predictable rant against anything with the name "Hoover" in it. When an interviewer asked him what he found most egregious about Herbert Hoover, Jesse replied that Hoover's pursuing Martin Luther KIng jr. as a subversive and a philanderer was a terrible abrogation on MLK's civil rights. Jesse Jackson, a Democratic candidate for the Presidency, had confused ex-President Herbert Hoover with J. Edgar Hoover, director of the FBI! Of course, the press and the other media barely reported this bit of hilarity. Political correctness was in vogue even in the 1980's.

Janet Shepler, Ms. Shepler, I've re-read your post several times, and as hard as I try , I can't make head or tail of it. If it is possible, perhaps you would elucidate your position, or expand upon it to make it easier to understand. Thank you.

What's with Limbaugh and his need to make derogatory comments about teenage girls. First he made fun of Chelsea Clinton's looks when she was 13, and now he's deriding Michelle Wie, who has accomplished a hell of a lot for a 16-year old.

It's funny, conservatives like to say that criticism of the successful is the result of jealousy. Except, of course, when they are the ones who are criticizing the successful.

Mr. Baldwin comes across in this article as a pathetic suck-up for Mr. Limbaugh. Was that intentional?

So let me see if I have this straight. Say something nice about a Conservative = suck up. Say something nice about a Liberal = insightful commentary. Also, it was sure nice that Janet Shepler could express her views without becoming personal. I thought it was only Conservatives who engaged in personal attacks?

Wow, I thought this place was all about Golfin'! I didn't realise people got so heated about things outside of the 18th!

I've noticed Chris B, that you've talked about Rush and Al before - you called Al a bore that time, don't you think that repetition of the same insult is a good example of boring?

Anyhow - anyone up for Golf?

Mr T, Bangkok Al has a blog going right now that has elicited 32 replies. It's all about what a conservative rat Rush Limbaugh is. BA has responded several times to his critics. I respectfully suggest that you find fault with his blog.

Thank you Alex, though i already knew that political liberals and conservatives had sites about conservative and liberal issues.

With all due respect, I was just trying to put things in a non-political perspective - let's get back to the Golf (Chris B has today!), and Alex, you just tried to invoke a paradoxical arguement - you appear to think that I'm being political in my choice of comments, when I was merely stating that this is a site called 'Travel Golf'.

Mr T, I couldn't agree with you more. It seems like one can't escape from politics these days. Last week I actually had to act as peacemaker at a high school track meet when two parents got involved in a vicious political argument. The strangest part of the whole fiasco was that both adults had kids on the SAME TEAM!

No way! It's good to know guys like you are out there - peacemakers. I hope people can find much more common ground - especially on the course - or the cyber-green!

No, Anthony, Chris Baldwin is not intentionally a pathetic suck-up for Mr. Limbaugh. It just worked out that way.

Greg, The original premise of this thread was that Al Franken is a bore who probably doesn't have a fan in the world. From your post, it seems like you are trying to steal the few AF has left. Forget Rush and Chris, what is your opinion of the humor(?)of Al Franken and his network, Err America?

Are you stupid or not so biased you don't care what you say? Have you read any of the comments on Limbaugh's Q & A? Half of them criticizes Golf Magazine for interviewing him. The other half calls him a big fat idiot.
