Baldie, your whole problem is that you are so anal that you need a butt-ler to pull the cushions off your ass as you leave the building.

Get a grip man. People are scared spitless and making jokes, so what?
You want them all to be cry babies like you? Oh, and there really was no need to inject a Wie bit of nonsense in with your lackwit maunderings.

Who is this Baldwin person and why should I care?

Bush and his cronnies are enabling the terrorists.
The whole goal of terrorists is the instill "terror"
When a plot is discovered and everyone runs around in panic mode, and uses it to scare the hell out of the public, that is helping add terror to the situation.
This is not only what the republicans have done, but it is what they have counted on, to stay in power. Scare the hell out of everyone.
How about some perspective? Thousands die every day from car accidents, yet you're going to let a handful of thugs ruin your lives, being petrified about getting on a plan?
Guess they won huh?

Is this guy for real!!! W sounded the right tone??? W is a moron whose foreign policies have brought us to this sad place and time. He and Bin Laden are for ever joined at the hip--Bush's cowboy foreign policy and war mongering in Iraq for no 'real' reason have been a jihad recruiter's dream; and Al Qaeda's actions and threats allow Bush to use fear as a tool to expand presidential power, trample civil liberties and manipulate an ignorant public--like Baldwin. Now, back to golf.....

I'm not all that pleased with how Bush has governed or conducted the war against the Islamic terrorists, but if you lefties think that the liberals would not be infintely worse, you're crazy.

The real problem, the one that few are willing to contemplate, let alone acknowledge, is that Islam is a destructive force whose adherents have been expansionist in their aims and militaristic in their methods since the heresy's inception. Do you not know that Muslims are causing trouble all over the world, from the Middle East to Russia to Nigeria to the Philippines?

Perhaps you'll understand when a couple of American cities are atomized.

Have you had a relative become a victim of a terroist act on an airplane?? No?!...I didn't think so. It seems that you think it is real funny that people make jokes about something that is not funny at all. The fact is that the Islamic Extremist have only one agenda and that is to kill innocent people for the sake of killing. They have unlimited resources and all the time in the world to plan their next attack. They are really the scum of the earth and have done nothing to help mankind. The passengers that were on the plane with the shoe bomber were very lucky that more research wasn't done about sweating feet when a person becomes nervous and developed another type of fuse. At 35,000 feet and 580 knots it doesn't take much to bring an airplane down.Think about it when you take your next flight.

Joe Cool, you are an idiot.

People make jokes when they re scared spitless. Friends of mine were trapped in a mine collapse. They were certain that death was just moments away, all through their ordeal. They survived by naking jokes, telling jokes and reassuring each other that they'd be alright.
You don't have to be on a plane with a bomg threat, there are lots of places that death threatens us daily, but your attitude is so bloody stupid.

It's very srious stuff, but to get so damn serious that you cannot even joke anymore means your terrorist buddies have already won.
Think about that next time you go off on someone else.

If you believe 'radical' Islams mission is kill for the sake of killing and there are simply two opposing views in this country as to how to confront it--liberal vs conversative, I can get you a great deal on a bridge connecting Brooklyn to Manhattan.

Most Americans associate the rise of Islamic Fundamentalism with Iranian hostage crisis because television introduced us to Khomeni. Read history people. An example of how we got here: Iran was a democracy in the late '40s, early '50s with an elected leader, by the people, who opposed a brutal dictator, the Shah. The Shah was a US and UK allie, and a brutal/murderous dictator, like Saddam. The UK did business with him in the form of an oil company, he got wealthy, they got wealthy and what is now BP came to be--back then, the people reaped none of the benefit of their national resource. Hence, they turned to democracy, elected a leader, removed the Shah and nationalized the natural resource for the benefit of the people. The US and UK overthrew the democracy and returned the Shah to power. We armed him, the CIA and British Intel trained his secret police; the Shah's brutality was legendary, like we portray Saddam today.

The radicals who oppose the US and UK know history, not through Nightline, they lived it. They know they can't confront the US and UK in conventional warfare, they fight the only way they can to oppose us, unfortunately for alot of innocent people. That's one example, now, back to golf....

To an extent you have mischaracterized the history of Iran. The leader ousted when the Shah returned to power was Muhammad Mussadegh, and while he was elected to their parliament, he was NOT elected prime minister. Rather, the Shah appointed him.

However, the above is secondary. For you to be excusing the actions and perspective of these barbarians is DISGUSTING. YOU and your ilk are part of the problem, and unless we bring you swine to heel, our civilization will be destroyed.

By the way, you do know that the dynasty of the Shahs was considered very liberal and instituted many western reforms, such as increased rights for women, don't you?

Nothing has been mischaracterized and excuses have not been made for the violence wreaking havoc in todays world. People often ask 'why they hate us so?'

Question: Who ousted Mossadegh and why? Who returned the Shah to power and why? When you fail to understand root causes, you'll never find solutions. To believe war/military operations will solve these problems is simple minded.

And yes, I'm aware the Shahs were liberal to the benefit of few, but also oppressive dictators and no friends of democracy. Like Saddam when he was our allie.

Stalin was infinitely worse than the Shah could ever have been (killing twenty million). Thus, are we to be condemned for allying ourselves with him as we opposed the Nazis? Or, is it that leftist tyrants find favor with you?

Secondly, are you naive enough to believe that democracy would have reigned in the hearts and minds and governments of these people were it not for big, bad Uncle Sam?

Lastly, I never ask "why they hate us so" because I know. Again, Islamists have been causing trouble in the world ever since the inception of their "faith" and are doing so today ALL over the world. How can this fact not enter into your "thinking"? What caused them to perpetrate the terrorist act they did in Russia or the ones in Nigeria, the Philippines or the other places where they wreak havoc?

You, sir, are blinded by an ideological sickness. You should ask yourself: why do I hate my own country so?

You deserve to be beaten like a pinata.

The US government will do what it will do regardless of whether a Republican or Democrat is in office. JINSA and AIPAC are calling the foreign policy shots and the ADL and SPLC are calling the domestic policy shots. We are a conquered country.
2006-08-14 @ 08:40
Comment from: Judge Smails [Visitor]

All manner and form of special interest groups exercise influence over our government and, yes, AIPAC is very powerful. However, it's not as simple as you portray it. There are many groups that exert a similar degree of influence (ever hear of the NEA?), and political ideology also factors into the equation.

But if you think that it doesn't matter who is elected, then you're a sheeple, despite the fact that you fancy yourself to be sophisticated enough to know what's "really going on."
