Jokes about airplane terror plot, new security show just how cluelessly messed up liberals are
Anyone who’s been to a major airport this summer knows that everyone and their grandmother - and usually literally their grandmother, great aunt and third cousin - had returned to those so friendly skies. With automobile gas prices so high that many SUV owners would have to consider taking out a loan for anything approaching a 12-hour drive, dads couldn’t even shout at their kids about how much fun the family car time would be. Plus, if you’ve been on America’s highways recently, you understand that most citizens should let someone else do the driving because they sure can’t.
Enter the airlines and a near return to the halcyon days.
Now that the terrorist plot to blow 10 passenger jets out of the sky is out in all of it chilling detail, you can only wonder if the crowds will continue in the post-summer days.
People who travel for a living like myself know that the road warriors will still be up there, making the rounds and perhaps crossing their fingers extra hard for a few weeks. But what about the average vacationer? How about the golf traveler (who’s certainly in most cases a little more sophisticated than the average vacationer)?
George W. Bush sounded the right tone with his we’re still at war comments.
Of course, just days after the plot came out, there are already crackpots making jokes about the new liquid bans.
“If they try to take my MAC lip gloss at the airport, they are looking at World War III,” obscure comedian Sandra Bernhard told my friends at the New York Post.
Or “It’s only a matter of time before the ruling class makes the connection that jet fuel can be used as an explosive. We just can’t risk having something like jet fuel on airplanes. It must be banned.”
That from TravelGolf.com’s own William K. Wolfrum who’s usually actually funny, if merrily delusional. But doesn’t come close to the first here.
Why are the people who don’t seem to be able to grasp reality always carrying liberal ties?
No one makes fun of needless overbearing security more than I do. The storm trooper squads at pro golf tournaments where crowds are spread out over miles in the open air is ridiculous. But these new airport rules are security with an actual purpose. Based on actual intelligence from intelligence agencies that truly take their jobs seriously these days.
Usually, humor is the best medicine (except if you’re a Wie Warrior in denial). In this case, it just comes across as the crass mutterings of people who cannot accept reality, people who still believe everyone can just hug and make up.

When a plot is discovered and everyone runs around in panic mode, and uses it to scare the hell out of the public, that is helping add terror to the situation.

You don't have to be on a plane with a bomg threat, there are lots of places that death threatens us daily, but your attitude is so bloody stupid.
