Ben Roethlisberger - NFL's most overrated quarterback - worse than Carson Palmer in golf too

Ben Roethlisberger was back stumbling around the huddle Monday night, giving another lesson in why he’s the most overrated quarterback in NFL history. Big Ben completed 17 of 32 passes for a whopping 141 yards and two interceptions, led the Steelers to zero points.

And Steeler fans are just about dumb enough to name another sandwich after him for it.

Roethlisberger really makes that offense go, huh? A week earlier with career journeyman Charlie Batch at the helm, Pittsburgh only put up 28 points in a win over Miami. And Batch threw for three touchdowns - Ben’s total in a typical month.

But what does this have to do with golf you ask?

Simple. Roethlisberger goes up against the quarterback who’s better than him in just about everything - including golf - this Sunday. That would be Cincinnati’s Carson Palmer, a man who can actually throw touchdown passes in bunches (Ben considers bunches two). And outbirdie Roethlisberger too boot.

Both Palmer and No-Helmet Man played in a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe this summer.

Palmer put up 22 points in the modified Stableford scoring system. Roethlisberger limped in with nine points. Sounds like their typical touchdown difference ratio come to think of it.

For more on NFL golfers stay tuned to TravelGolf.com throughout this season and into January. You’ll get interviews with Palmer, Roethlisberger, top coaches like Herm Edwards and Mike Shanahan, and even some tough words from former fantasy king Marshall Faulk. Here’s new NBC voice Sterling Sharpe talking about why he was “a prick” when he played and his golf game.

And here’s a sneak peak at the Palmer interview:

Q: You said in Sports Illustrated that you hate the Steelers. Yet you and Ben spent a lot of time talking on the range …

Palmer: I said I hated the Steelers, not Ben.

Why would Carson Palmer hate Ben Roethlisberger? Dumb question on my part. Having Roethlisberger at quartberback is a bonus for the Bengals. If Ryan Leaf was on the Steelers, he could be having Ben Roethlisberger’s career.

The Steelers carried Big Ben last year. Everyone starts to see more of that on Sunday. Of course, Steeler fans will just have another sandwich of denial.

You're an idiot. Ben lost a game after coming back from an appendectomy and running a fever on gameday. So he's not going to throw for 50 touchdowns in a year. So what? All the man does is win games. I'll take that from my quarterback any day. P.S. What did Carson Palmer do in his return this season? Oh that's right, he had a very similar game to the one Ben had the other night. But that's ok, don't let any facts get in the way of your Roethlis-bashing. Moron.

Hey Chris,
I think your article bashing Ben Roethelisberger really stinks. I think maybe you're the one with the fever. Any team in the NFL would be thrilled to have a quarterback like Ben. No one should have expected him to play 100 % with what he has been through, and with all that playing time he has had this year. The defense of the jaguars was outstanding. Any quarterback would have had a difficult time, even your overrated quarterback Carson Palmer. Maybe you should change your profession because you are a poor writer who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.Jerk.

Stick to golf you nerd! Apparently you missed the playoffs last year! I watched Ben in college. He will be just fine. The Steelers got beat by a very good team that seems to have their number. Let's just see what unfolds during the next 14+ games.

Wow ! Ben's fans really take the critics seriously. The're even harsher than the Wie fanatics. Maybe you should wear a helmet Chris.

Wow. How can you comare that idiot Palmer to Ben. Sure he had a rough a night. Being an ICU nurse for 10+ I understand better than the average person the type of surgery he had. Despite the lovely diagram on Monday night. I think you need to stick with Golf, or another sport that is like watching grass grow since you surely don't know much about football. Win or loose STEELER FANS are the most devoted to their team. WIN OR LOOSE.

Let's face the facts folks. Ben is a
doofus and the most overrated, mediocre
quarterback in the NFL today. As I
always say, OFFENSE sells the tickets,
DEFENSE wins the game. Ben didn't win
the Superbowl for the Steelers last year,
the Steeler defense did.

With-out Bettis and Polamalu the Steelers woulda never squeeked by enough games to even be recognized! ...and then there was the torn ACL that Palmer received by a "Steel-Thug" to end Bengals play-off hopes and catapult Steelers to an undiserved Super-Bowl! Look at Bens stats. After all, it does'nt matter what people think. The only thing that matters is STATS. ...and little ben sucks!!!
