That damn Greg Norman does it again: Shark's Myrtle Beach restaurant surprisingly good

I didn’t expect to like Greg Norman’s Australian Grille in Myrtle Beach. It’s a chain restaurant after all and chain restaurants stop being impressive to most people by the time they’re out of college. Unless you live in Buffalo or something.

I didn’t want to like Greg Norman’s. How much can one man get anyways? Majors winner, majors choker, wine maker (though a tad overrated there), personal jet pilot, own clothing line tycoon, golf course designer, turf specialist (he claims to be the company behind the turf in two Super Bowls and the 2000 Olympics on his website) and home beef shipper (yes, Greg Norman will send you some Australian prime - check out this one of his 50 websites).

Norman has the resume of 500 men. Apparently, he now holds every job in Australia besides crocodile movie character or crocodile tamer.

Unfortunately, you have to add surprisingly good restaurateur to the ever-expanding list.

Greg Norman’s cooks up a tasty salmon salad. It’s much better than you get at most chain restaurants, Ruth’s Chris included. His place in Myrtle Beach at the Barefoot Landing outdoor shopping center has a nice setting right on some water, good service and a super convenient location if you’re playing any of the Barefoot Resort courses.

I know, makes me want to gag too. But can’t help it. That damn Norman delivers.

Go to Greg Norman’s Grill during lunch. The menu’s much cheaper and the views over the water are often better.

As for Norman? Expect him to become the first non-US-born president. What constitutional amendment? This is Greg Norman. And people worried about Arnold.

I'll take a pass on Norman's latest and go to a real champion's restaurant instead: Sam Snead's Grille. I've had a fabulous meal there every time and the atmosphere is pefectly suited for golfers. The oak-grilled entrees are to die for.

Q:
How does Baldwin guarantee at least one comment?

A:
He takes a shot at Buffalo, the Buffalo of the North.

While Buffalo may not produce its share of world-renowned names, you'll be surprised how many of your friends and associates that you respect and admire in L.V., Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte, Phoenix, etc. have Buffalo ties or origins. We simply produce solid, quality people.
