John Daly's camera click injury at Honda confirms his status as world's most pathetic "athlete"
Friday March 2, 2007 | 04:43:27 264 words, 4286 views
John Daly was minding his own business at the Honda Classic when disaster struck …. Someone clicked a camera. And we all know how crippling that can be right? No, actually we don’t. Only Big John with the little heart does. For when Daly heard a camera click, he whirled around to glare and apparently ended up busting his ribs. Or at least causing them to go ouch. Slightly. So Daly did when any true dedicated professional would: He quit. Right there on the spot, two holes into the first round. Just when you thought John Daly could not embarrass golf anymore … It’s bad enough that Daly’s wasted more talent than any athlete since Mickey Mantle. Now, he continues his descent into complete buffoon by getting hurt by turning around. It’s poetic justice in some ways to see one of these whiny multimillionaire golfers get hurt in one of their nonsensical overreactions to a camera click. Like you need to whirl around like a Reno 911 cop to stare down some poor sap who miss timed a picture click? You’re supposed to be an athlete. In theory at least. Blocking out distractions is part of being a pro. Of course, Daly’s so out of shape, he probably could hurt himself lifting up a buffalo wing. Again, great dedication to your craft. Cecil Fielder is embarrassed by this guy. Congrats Wimpy John. You’re the worst conditioned athlete in the history of the world. And you given ammo to that guy who was cut from his high school football team so he kicked things: You know soccer dude. Comments:

I think he tried to stop his downswing.
That's hard to do when you swing so fast. But point taken: it's easier to get hurt when you're rather pathetically out of shape.

You just don't know what it's like to have muscles, Chris.
Didn't everybody whine last year when
Steve William's broke a camera because he was concerned that Tiger could suffer the same fate as Daly has now suffered? Isn't the issue idiots who take photos, and endange the Golfer's well being?

It is funny to hear bitter, low down on the golf scale, bloggers like Chris Baldwin whine about Daly. Daly is a fairly amusing character who brings a nice break from the staid PGA routine. The jealous junior high school girl act is getting old Baldwin, try and get yourself some bearings for God sake!
Daly has wasted more talent than most of us will ever have and people still find him "amusing". Pretty damn sad on both counts.
A camera click. A CAMERA click. Not a shotgun. Not a car crash. Not an explosion. A CAMERA click.
I think its lame when Tiger gets cranky about a camera, but Daly takes the cake. Fat washed-up drunk loser. White trash hill-billy. Everything that is wrong with America rolled up into one big soft bag of lard. Go away John. A camera click... heh.
Chris I agree 100%. Why people make a hero out of this loser is a huge mystery to me. What a maroon.
That tub of lard you sll refer too spends more money on charity and children than you and your pathetic lives would ever dream. Overweight, yes. Talent wasted, yes. And Amil, if you don't like hill billy's you racist then just get out of our country.
Come on Emil, quit being so shy. Tell us whay you really think
Nothing like kicking a man when he is down. Daly has given more money away than most people will ever make. Furthermore he has won more majors than Jim Furyk, the number two player in the world, and the entire European Ryder Cup team combined. I would continue but arguing with fools is a waste of time.
John and Eddie you're sentences actually should have read...
John Daly has given away more money to casino's, bars, and ciggarette companies than most people will ever make--The fact that he occasionally gives to charity as well does not excuse him from being a fat, alcoholic, drug addicted slob who could have been a better golfer and better human being.

When did hillbillies become a race? I must've missed that meeting.

Shanks,
Hillbillies probably were declared a race at the same time as the Irish were.:-)

he about sums up what I have to say
Last time I checked for majors, Daly has
two under his belt. That's more than Furyk, Ogilvy, Love, Donald, Scott, Stenson ....more than any of the top 20 players in the world besides Woods, Mickelson, Els, and Singh. Let's also not forget that he puts more people the stands than any golfer on tour besides Tiger. What are you gonna say when Daly wins another Major? I think you've lost your damn mind!
