HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. (June 9, 2007) - Michelle Wie shot an 11-over 83 as Bulle Rock turned into her personal houses of bogeys today. When it was over, after the score seemed to stun even a few pros who came in after Wie’s group and asked how she did, Wie said she will consider withdrawing Sunday before the fourth round of the LPGA Championship.

With her left wrist already wrapped in ice, Wie sounded like she was setting the stage for her second straight withdrawal.

“It’s not doing so well,” Wie said of the most controversial wrist in sports history. “We’ll have to see throughout the night, how it holds up.”

When asked how people would know if she is going to withdraw, Wie smiled.

“If you don’t see me on the first tee box tomorrow morning,” she said.

Wie’s third round unraveled to such a degree that she even pulled the head cover off her driver for the first time all week. She unleashed a bomb on No. 11.

Right into the deep rough.

“I don’t really know,” Wie said about playing today and finishing the tournament. “I can’t say for sure right now. I really want to play. I think it would be awesome to get another experience, another round under my belt. I just have to see how it goes tonight.”

For more complete coverage of the LPGA Championship, go to the front of WorldGolf.com. On tonight and Sunday night, there will be new live stories and columns up shortly after the last putt of the day.

Including more on Wie’s wild day.

Hmmm. So much for the lowered bar. Dead last among finishers.

Eventually, it'll be like a John-Daly-esque target of just getting to the tee box on time.

At least this time, unlike the 16-hole fiasco at Ginn, she remembered to call attention to the pain her wrist injury was causing during the round. A grimace here, there..just to make sure it was obvious she was in distress.

Oh," she said. "In the rough. But I don't care. I hit driver for the first time in 54 holes. It was really therapeutic."

For all you who wondered about the next Michelle Wie excursion into golf's Twilight Zone look no further. I'll grant her one thing, pound for pound she delivers more golf course dramas, misadventures and weird twist of fate that any other recent player I can think of. Moreover, in the surreal world of Michelle Wie it is all easily explained away like a child's boo-boo.

Her sponsor Nike must be wild about Wie to put up with her shananigans.

After predicting this fall long ago on
this blog site (to a chorus of hate, I
might add), I am really chuffed that I
turned out to be right. NOW, like
Baldwin seems to be, I really am a Wie
fan. I can't wait to see what circus
unfolds at the Open in two weeks. This
is really compelling "golf"!

One round her wrist is fine, the next it is sore, then it's good, then it's bad. what a bunch of B.S!!!!!
Who is buying this crap? Her game is shot!!

Raymond,
All the Wiebots buy it. They will hang on till she quits and joins Capriotti, Anna K., Ty and other young stars that were pushed into the Limelight too quick. But at least she fooled more people and got rich doing it.
Someone was right. She can pose for some girly Magazine.
That might infuriate those Women's lib Guys a lot. She went from their Savior to someone that's only desirable to look at.
I feel bad to even watch her. Did you see those awful chip shots. That certainly has nothing to do with her wrists.
Her nerves are shot. Which means her phyche is Shot. Get her out of there and let her play college only, if she can turn back to Amateur Status

Hi guys. I've been reading for a few weeks and not posting. You guys are always interesting. As much as I am a fan of Morgan and a handful of the other new breed LPGA women, I am pretty surprised to see Wie fall to such a score. I figured she would be done for a while, but man- she really seems to be toast for the near future at the very least.

She can relax and enjoy Stanford. And sleep on a pillow full of Nike money. Her parents should be sentenced to shop in Walmart for ten years and not get near the dough.

Meanwhile, I'll be rooting for major number two for Morgan since she is in pretty good position. Couple others I would not mind winning also if Morgan does not get there. Lincicome and Creamer would be good also. I know some of you believe Creamer does not have it in her. We shall see.

Stanley, Putt4par, where are you guys at?

Stanley, Didn't you predict a high finish for bubbles? Was it you that said she had a good chance at winning this event? I was surprised she made the cut, and as it turns out, that is the worst thing that could have happened to her. Now that she is back to her normal game and has shot an 83, she is back to holding her wrist and is preparing to blast us with more excuses. I realize that you are a Wie-wee, but at some point, even you should admit that this girl has been massively overated and the quality of her game has been blown way out of porportion.

Lance R.,

Stanley did predict an LPGA win for Bubbles this year, but not necessarily in the LPGA championship.

It was Jim C who a few months back stated defiantly that Bubbles would definitely WIN the LPGA at Bulle Rock.

The day before the tournament started, Jim C stuck to his guns, saying that Bubbles was at least as good a bet to win as anyone else in the field.

Since he is MIA on these boards, it is hard to say what spin he'll put on Bubbles' latest disaster, but he never seems to disappoint.

He'll have some treatise of convoluted, hyperbolic illogic forthcoming as sure as there's a cow in Texas.

Booger,

I am a 63 year old grandfather of seven with a 14 handicap, but if Bubbles were to give me two a side, I think I could take a good chunk of the money BJ scammed away from her.

I have another 9:20 tee time today, so this will be the first time this year that I've played two consecutive days.

For you right-handers out there, don't be alarmed. I did my duty last night; I attended 5:30 Mass.

I think you should make it fair. Instead
of two a side, just take three shots for
the whole match. Give the kid a break.

Good lord, Alex has had too much time on his hands. Abusing the online dictionary again Alex?

Lance, Art... No hangover here. Actually I have been greatly amused at the amount of absolutley stupid things that you guys type in these blogs.
I never predicted anything for MW. I'm not into seances, crytal balls or any of the witchcraft that so obviously occupies your otherwise drab lives. Being that I am a little more grounded in reality than you and the ambulance chaser are, I leave that up to you guys.

That would put you and Alex right up there in the lead, Smails....
There is no one on these boards that post as often as Alex, and you come in at a close second.

Anyone who finds fault with Bubbles or her stage parents is a racist.

That, dear friends, is an example of the reality in which putt4par is grounded.

No Alex, the reality that I am grounded in is that you and Smails are idiots, maybe human idiots but not likely.

But keep at it Alex, you are definintely one of the more amusing idiots whose comments we have a chance to view.

You and Smails definitely have my vote for Redneck America poster boys..pun intended.

More of putt4par's Canick reality as he sees it.

Now if you one find things amiss with Bubbles or her pandering parents, putt-putt spouts that you are a Redneck, racist, idiot.

Now, that is tolerance Canuck style.

It is also very revealing.

Ahh, Alex, you have captured the true essence of comdey. The classic clown.

Your sparkling repartee and scintilating prose are priceless but those wonderful attributes have been overshadowed by your excellent Mime. Your portrayal of a man of importance is unbelievable,
the true embodyment of the comedic act.
I see you have your face all painted up again, so
I'll leave you to your next act, Mr.Bozo.

If you want the meaning of your posts to get through to people, try expressing your thoughts on a level with which you feel most comfortable.

Like the third grade.

I predicted that Wie would win and she finished 84th. I believe Alex went with Webb who finished 2nd. We were both wrong. If the only thing that matters is winning, the differeence between finishing 2nd and 84th is insignificant. If coming close counts for anything, then last year Wie came close in 3 Majors which is even better than the two I predicted.

But that's all it is. Jimbo, this is 2007. Last year was 2006. Get it?

Have you ever considered psychotherapy? Or a frontal lobotomy?

You had better get off the Bubbles bandwagon before you end up on the funny farm.

Good lord man, I've heard 12 year olds that sound more mature than either of you.

When are the two of you going to grow up?
No,on sober second don't bother to answer that, it'd probably be more of your regular fare, your trademark reaction to everything, more insults.

putt4par,
I second your opinions about Alex and Judge Smails. Every comment they make lacks maturity. Maybe they so feel inferior in real life that they have to insult people to make them feel better and sleep at night. I have noticed throughout all these blogs, both have picked on the little things when they start feeling intimidated
I would respect their opinions a lot more if they did not resort to such classless drivel.
