Newly engaged Greg Norman deserves credit for staying in his age bracket with Chris Evert
Sunday December 16, 2007 | 23:27:20 171 words, 4447 views
Greg Norman is taking some criticism for his engagement to former tennis star Chris Evert. OK, some of its understandable. (Norman’s ex-wife - a former flight attendant - lashed out in an interview with the London Sunday Telegraph that only makes her look silly). But everyone else needs to get off The Chokers … er Sharks’ back. Especially older women. Only Donald Trump has his name on more products than Greg Norman. Wine, shirts, golf courses, steaks … you name it and there’s a good chance Norman is selling it with an all-out zeal. Even after reportedly giving away nearly half his fortune to the flight attendant, Norman’s net worth is estimated around $200 million. If any 52-year-old guy is a prime candidate to be jetting around the globe with a bevy of 20-year-old “personal assistants", it’s Greg Norman. Instead the Shark has already popped the question to the 53-year-old Evert. That’s right. She’s one year his senior. Certainly, there’s something honorable in that. Of course, Fred Couples is wondering what Norman could possibly be thinking. Comments:
you're right: I think this prove their is a a real love story and not a flink. people should stop to judge and have bad words against them. live and let live.
"A real love story"? Seriously, Jason? Good thing you didn't investigate for The Mitchell Report. You live and let live, we'll have fun with this detritus.

He deserves credit for staying in his age bracket? But as a best friend, Greg Norman won't win any awards, ask his former best mate/friend Andy Mill, the former Mr Cris Evert. Ouch!
Brooklyn,
Remember the old saying..."all is fair in love and war"...I never agreed with that, however, I guess the happy couple does.
Only traditional relationships work. Modern paradigm ones are nothing but trouble. We'll see how long it lasts.
Ah yes, traditional relationships: Many wives,
or one "wife" and lots of concubines. The Judeo-Christian Bible's full of those great "traditional" relationships. And of course, the term begs the question: Whose tradition? Scores of cultures have a tradition of multiple husbands, too.

Kiel,
Your post is nothing but more leftist, liberal exaggeration. Let's see, a "score" is equal to twenty. I'm not asking you to name twenty so-called cultures with a tradition of multiple husbands, try to name ten.
Kiel,
You're right, I should have provided more specificity. The ideal model is that which is prescribed by the Catholic Church. Any more questions?
Alex,
What's interesting about ol' Kiel (if one can characterize those who disgorge leftist platitudes as interesting) is that he is such an archetypal liberal. You can know exactly how he'll respond to any issue because his musings come right out of the Catechism of the Relativistic Cretin Church. He's so stereotypical, predictable and, lamentably, boring.

Judge Smails,
Kiel questions "whose tradition?" Well, since Greg and Chris and virtually everyone reading and posting on these boards were born to and nurtured on Western culture, I would assume that even a flaming lib like Kiel recognize something so obvious. In the USA and Australia the "cultures" of the headhunters of New Guinea and the cannibals of the indigenous tribes of sub-Sahara Africa, as well as the maniacal Philipine Tagalogs and the Amazonian tribes are rightly viewed as barbaric. Perhaps Kiel puts these stone age "cultures" on a par with or even above those of the civilized world.

Kiel,
Can you name a few of these polygamous cultures for women? I think my ex-girlfriend might be interested.

Brooklyn,
Fuhgetaboutit.
Brooklyn,
Yes, the editor can. If he will, though, well, that is a different question. Please hold your breath waiting. Leave a comment: |
