Tiger Woods blowing the Masters by letting Stewart Cink match him in final round

The Masters is incredibly still right there for Tiger Woods to grab it. Even after his bogey on No. 10. Tepid Trevor Immelman is going to go wobbling back to 8-under, maybe 7-under.

Yet what’s Tiger doing? He’s letting playing partner Stewart Cink pretty much match him during the final round at Augusta. Yes, that Stewart Cink, the guy Tiger calls “Stewie.”

I’ve seen Tiger and Stewie Cink matched up before live. Indeed, I watched six excruciatingly boring hours of it in the World Match Play Championship outside of Tucson. Woods treated Cink like his own jovial, goofy pin cushion that day. He destroyed him 8-and-7. And that’s what Tiger should be doing in the Masters.

Instead they’re both playing 1-over golf.

It’s one thing if Immelman or someone else ahead of Woods plays well enough to keep their lead. It’s quite another for Tiger to blow a green jacket because he could not even outplay Stewie in his own pairing.

Heck, even mental midget Phil Mickelson is only two shots behind Tiger now. That’s when you know you’re approaching the no-contention zone.
