Paula Creamer talks about learning how to win in Junior Golf: An indirect, deserved swipe at Michelle Wie?

EDINA, Minn. (June 27, 2008) - You know that Paula Creamer has to love the fact that Michelle Wie continues to throw up all over herself in any pressure golf situation. Just like about 150 other women out here at the U.S. Women’s Open delight in it.

After Creamer posted a 1-under 72 in her second round, to move to four under for the Open, within three shots of the lead at this moment, she was served up a question that allowed her to take a swipe at the Wie duck-all-comers way without having to mention Wie by name.

When someone asked Creamer how her experience winning Junior Golf tournaments helped her, she didn’t hesitate.

“It’s about being able to win at every level,” said Creamer, who has. “In every kind of situation. It’s all about confidence and knowing that you’ve done it before, that you know how to win. Knowing that you can win in match play or stroke play, knowing that you come from behind and win, how to play with the lead. That’s all experience.”

Experience Team Wie never gave Michelle a chance to get. I don’t think the hype masters behind Wie regret their choice though. If Wie had played more Junior Golf, she probably would have been exposed long before she was and the fake legend never would have built up enough to allow for the cash cow payouts.

It’s good to be Creamer today, though.

Michelle did not make the cut and no one is surprised. Unfortunately, she has no desire to join the LPGA because she is still in "LA LA LAND" and feels she will still play on the PGA, the European Tour, the Asian Tour and the LPGA tour while still attending Stanford, simply because that is what SHE WANTS to do. I wonder what the conversation is behind closed doors at Sony, Nike and Omega? The Wie saga is quickly coming to an end. The few shots of her at the US Open gave me the impression that she is a very lonely girl on the LPGA. They don't even acknowledge that she exists.

I wonder if it ever crosses peoples minds that people have been saying this stuff for years? I mean why would people just call her game into question? I think everyone is now really starting to figure it out. It took a while but eventually the scores tell the story. It's a better LPGA Tour as well. In 2006 Karrie Webb was almost player of the year and now she can't get a sniff. These young players are in the midst of taking over.

After Michelle missed the cut she discovered that her putting prevented her from moving forward. She couldn't putt four years ago and she still can't putt. This fault, plus having no idea where her tee shots are going to land, will end her career very soon. I have not seen her parents at the tournaments, has she finally taken charge of her own destiny?
