Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers shows more class than Brett Favre by sticking to his Lake Tahoe celebrity golf commitment
Add commentsIt’s ludicrous and borderline insane to suggest that Aaron Rodgers will be a better quarterback for the Green Bay Packers this season than Brett Favre would have been. Packers management’s stubborn decision to not go back to Favre out of spite proves just how dumb many leaders in pro football are - a sport that’s managed to convince all its gambling degenerate fans that it’s a game directed by geniuses who don’t know how to dress.
Still, with that said, there’s no doubt that Aaron Rodgers showed much more class than Favre in sticking to his commitment to play in the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe. Favre and Rodgers both originally committed to play in the premier celebrity golf tournament in the country.
But as word that he wanted to return started to tickle out, Favre backed out on Lake Tahoe. While Rodgers still showed knowing that the Favre questions and many national NFL reporters would follow him there.
There’s something to be said for being a man of your word. Favre will forever be the far superior quarterback, but the 24-year-old Rodgers has already shown he’s better at sticking to his commitments.
Would Favre have created a media circus in Tahoe? Sure, but it’s nothing the area couldn’t have handled. Especially with Phil Weidinger, maybe the best PR guy in the entire business, handling things for the tournament.
Rodgers faced plenty of media focus himself and still managed to deflect most of it while playing golf. Of course, if helped that Dallas Cowboys choking dunce quarterback Tony Romo was there, making a fool of himself and trying to surp up any attention as well.

That's just what I hear.

How do you look in the mirror every morning and not hate what you see?
You can't let the ROMO thing go can you? What a weird nut. You write about the Packers and still find a way to dis Romo who is not even plausible to this story. What a loser!
Wolfie, you know we hardly ever see "I2I" but golly that was a funny post!
