I don't understand why there is even a reference to journalism, let alone this journalism 101 stuff. If you want to talk journalism, read Walter Lippmann and Michael Schudson. I encourage you to really look at what scholars and real journalists have to say about the role of journalism and really think about the proper relationship between the press, public opinion and self-governance before you start sprouting about journalism 101. Anyone who actually took an introductory journalism class would know the difference between journalism and the truth: "news and truth are not the same thing." (Lippmann)

So I don't think I even need to actually think about the differences between this "stuff" and journalism or the truth--suffice to say journalism or truth have very little in common with this stuff. But this is not an excuse for Baldwin to malign people for no reason just because he is a blogger, after all most people have such a thing as a conscience and some people even have a social conscience. But I think that would be too much to expect from this sports "writer" with a passion for National-Enquirer-like reporting.

PRESSEL WAS IMPRESSIVE with her poise and ability to articulate how she was feeling about being drubbed by Wie on her competitor's home turf. She has been critical of Wie's free passes to major events the past couple of years and even took a small shot at her Saturday when she made the remark, "It looked like she could close it out."

Translation? If she makes that birdie putt, she has a chance to win, but she didn't.

It is also sad that people are rewarded before they have proven themselves. Wie hasn't won anything professionally but she's been called the next tiger woods. blah! Maybe she's the next female something but women do not garner the attention that male atheletes receive because women dont play at the same level or excitement that male atheletes perform. The media has pumped her up with the help of top companies that endorse her. Just because she has big bank account that she hasn't really earned. Hype Hype Hype lol...

it's hilarious to see grown adults bashing someone for bashing someone else. Two wrongs don't make a right, instead it just shows serious character flaws in people that defend others that they don't even really know except what they see on tv & read in the paper.

The Kraft Nabisco is coming in a few weeks and another chance to marvel at miss Wie. It is such a shame she can't play every week. Having to wait 3 or 4 weeks between appearances is extremely hard to cope with.
I hope she announces another sponsorship deal with a perfume company or a hat maker just to p**s Morgan off. Maybe we will see a few more crocodile tears from Morgan. After all she is supposed to be tough.
I will be there rooting for Michelle wearing my badge.
Look out for a guy wearing a white short sleeve shirt with a Michelle badge on the pocket, that will be me.
Maybe I will bump into Baldie.
