We have been huge supporters for years now. Michelle, play the women when you can until the time comes when you maybe become strong enough to take on the PGA guys. We do not want to see you become someone to be mocked for your repeated failing efforts to play with the men. You have a great talent. Use it well. Don't waste it at this point. You are looking worse in each men's tournament you enter. Don't become the Harold Stassen of the golf world.

Alex, I am not a fan of Michelle Wie. I am a fan of the game of golf. As such, I watch with interest the development and performance of many players, Michelle included. If I were a betting man I’d still be putting my money on Annika almost every time out. I enjoy the drama of the competition and enjoy seeing any player achieve beyond expectation.

My issue is with ridiculous expectations. I think those who see a sound byte, or read an article or two about Michelle, and declare here the best player who ever lived are sadly misguided. Not everyone who appreciates what Michelle has accomplished is that foolish.

The point you missed completely, or choose to ignore, is that expecting a 16 year old to win in LPGA is a ridicules expectation. Condemning a player, for not having done so, is simply foolish. This is something no player, not even the greatest legends in Women’s golf, have ever achieved. The fact that there is a player who could conceivable accomplish this should delight and entertain… not be a target of ridicule because the miracle has not yet taken place.

Alex, Michelle’s age relative to other players in not the issue. It is her absolute age today that is the issue. Should Michelle reach 25 years of age with out winning, the age at which Annika won her first (after losing 34 in a row), it will be reasonable to start questioning her ability. It is entirely possible Michelle will never devolve into the player her potential promises. I can think of several scenarios from injury to romance to burnout to new interest that could lead Michelle to remain an interesting footnote in the history of golf. What is fascinating is that the potential is there and we get to see it unfold, for better or worse.

Finally, Alex please read carefully, I only commented on what your statements in this forum “seem to indicate”. I do not have a problem separating a persons opinion from the person them self. I have no intention of casting dispersion on your person, only to state my opinion, that the ideas you express here are foolish and immature. I will happily take your word for it that you are mature, well educated and intelligent and look forward to see evidence of the same in your postings.

After checking out a few of your past blogs is that i came to agree with my brother.

You do talk just like a jealous gay guy yapping his 'flaming' mouth about this and that. especially about a teenage girl who is prettier, a better athelete and definately richer than you. I played baseball and golf in high school and think myself somewhat of a jock. but i don't see why you have such a 'thing' for Ms. Wie. unless your racist, gay or both.

why can i say this? Because i am gay and proud to be. I'm sure you have known a gay guy can spot another one with our special "GAY-dar" (radar) sense. so stop picking on a UNDER AGED girl and come out of the closet and join our ranks!!!!!!

I appreciate what Phil Mickelson did, but why make the comparison with Michelle Wie or even Tiger for that matter? Does it all go to those two for you? What is your agenda?

Michelle Wie donated $500,000 for god's sake! Give her a break on the watch! It might annoy you that an Asian girl her age is attracting so much attention, but it is what it is. Golf is no longer a bastion of the lily white! Deal with it!

The guys watch was about $450, no Rolex or Omega, but no cheap piece of junk either. If I were that guy I would have asked Mickelson to fork over the rest.

I remember when the blabbering bald one proclaimed Morgan Pressel a genius because she agreed with him. His comment only servers to prove he thinks like an immature teenage girl.

Now with Morgan in tears and “she who is better than Wie” letting him down at the Fields Open there will be no talk of golf; only an ignorant, childish, pitiful attack on Michelle for a simple single comment made about a watch. This comment, taken completely out of context, is all this hack of blogger can think to talk about for two columns.

Chris, should one small particle of truth ever penetrate your thick head, as it did for Morgan after 18 holes at the Fields, you will find yourself in tears as well.
