This is old news. Played Tour 18 in Dallas and Houston 10 years ago.

I used to live in Houston, and played Tour 18 a number of times. I have also walked Augusta National twice in the past 5 years. Hard to believe that Mr Baldwin is actually RIGHT - but "Amen Corner" at Tour 18 sure looks and plays like what I remember seeing on TV when I was a kid...and Augusta doesn't! Good post Chris.

Chris - I'm surprised that you have not found a way to stir up a hornet's nest of replies with this post. Maybe I could offer you some help. How about sending me up to Tour18 for a few rounds in exchange for a review from a beginners perspective? All you have to cover are the green fees, I live close by in SE Houston.

Not a bd job on researching their rates, but I've seen $26 during the week. Generally though, you'll pay $39 to $69 for weekend play.

BTW, I'm planning on taking my Father-in-Law up there when he visits in early June which will be my one-year golf anniversary. I sure could use a couple of practice rounds so I can take him to school after just one year of playing :)
