You can speculate all you want about Lorena Ochoa but one thing for sure she can play golf with any of the current crop of LPGA players and win consistently. I hope she laughs all the way to the bank. As far as racism and other American peculiarities you can go on forever in order to create blood flow in dead heads that think God created them on the eighth day.

It's certainly not biotry to pull more for US players than players from other countries. Especially when we're talking about a US tour where 95% of the tournaments are played in the US. US tv. US speaking blog. etc..

I agree with that, too. One thing is for sure, though, bigotry has nothing to do with it.

WRONG

If she were an attractive Mexican woman she'd be front page news.

Looks play a part for everything marketable. And if she were hot there would have been a club deal LONG ago.

Oh, cry me a river. You pc dum-dums are so out of touch with reality that you don't realize that the prevailing bigotry in western civilization redounds negatively upon white people. I'll also note that despite the fact she's Mexican, she's allowed to play on the American tour and make oodles of cash. You can talk about prejudice when that avenue is no longer available to her.

And why didn't she receive more endorsements? Well, first of all, how many non-golfers even know who she is? Second, it's the people who receive the hype, such as Bubbles and Woods, who receive the lucrative contracts. And endorsements are a reflection of market appeal, and I would certainly hope that American companies would reward AMERICANS (who speak English well, mind you) more than a foreigner who speaks the pidgin variety.

Next, what I find bigoted is your resorting to the language of white demonization, such as "blondes with a ponytail." As someone has already pointed out, Bubbles, with her Asian appearance, is doing far better than any of the blondes. So, if you had implied that Ochoa has been lagging in this area because companies prefer Americans, or those whose command of the English is sound, far better, it would at least be palatable. But to use this as another opportunity to impugn white people for being bigoted is REPREHENSIBLE. You should be ashamed of yourself.

By the way, if the Mexicans were productive and could manage an economy, they'd have plenty of their own companies to lavish contracts upon the Ochoas of the world. It's not our fault that they made their excrementitious land into a Third World toilet. I guess Ochoa is another example of an unfortunate Mexican who has to come to the good ol' US of A to make a living.

There still exists Racism in Golf, but it was getting better until immagration made the headlines. I'm happy I do not blame anybody but myself for any problems I might have. Tiger and Michelle are not Mexican so they have nothing to do with this right-on article. It's unfortunate about racism, but true. I'm lucky I was born here and don't get it as much, but if their was oppurtunity for me in another country I would go. Listen to th e guys on KFI640 in L.A. It's good that the Mexican Mafia does not listen to Them, because they would be taken out. My Mexicam Mother can not stand to listen to them and she is one of the most understanding person around.

Chris,

It's obvious you don't follow politics or American business all that closely. American corporations are the top sponsors of the current immigration amnesty bill, and most US companies now have marketing divisions which do nothing but promote their brand to Hispanic Americans both in English and in Spanish.
