John and John D.....It's hard to fathom which of you is the more ignorant. Michelle Wie misses a PGA cut by a couple of makeable putts and one of you is 95% sure she had no chance?? We need to start at the beginning...Babe Zaharias and Mickey Wright were the two greatest female talents of all time...and if they were playing with state of the art equipment both make several PGA cuts.
Also...I'd be willing to put 10K on Babe taking Tiger in a no holds barred street fight. Or either one of you..take your choice.

BOYCOTT? I'm on board...I have not bought anything NIKE since they began to sponsor T. Woods. Even if I find a stray NIKE ball, I throw it into the deepest pond on the course so no one else can use it either.

Not even the greatest female player of all time, and I mean Annika, could make a PGA cut, and she played against a much better field. Before they start giving Wie all these free passes, lets make her beat Annika on a consistent basis first.
And another thing, lets have all the men on tour that disagree with this, and I mean disagree with and not being politicaly correct stand up and say something, lets have them start to boycout these tourneys, then we will see how many free passes the ladies get.
But on the other hand, if they have to qualify like every body else has too, then that is a little different, then they are showing that the can compete fairly. There are tons of guys that do this for a living, and they could sure use an excemption to maybe earn an extra thousand or two. I am a scratch golfer myself, and I can tell you I would sure love to be able to golf with the big boys for two rounds of golf and be 95% positive that I wouldn't make the cut. Enough already, Chris Baldwin speaks the truth, and maybe if more people who had a pen in their hands wrote the truth and if more men on the PGA spoke out like Vijay all of this nonsense would finally come to a stop.

To John D.
Learn how to spell Amateur first and then put Michelle Wie in the Junior Amateur ranks where she belongs.

Every one of these road shows where she has no chance just continues to demoralize her confidance more and more.
Hit the junior ranks and show us a WIN over somebody. PLEASE Michelle, You are on the verge of being extinct and a circus act.

It may not be politically correct but damn if it ain't the truth, Chris. It would be nice if Wie's potential plays out and she becomes a contender at the highest level. But for now let's all remember that she's only one of the best female golfers on the planet ... a far cry from the top of the game.

PGA needs do something to keep females out of PGA and direct them to LPGA. Until a FEMALE wins 100% of the time on the LPGA, then, maybe, they might deserve the right to play on the PGA. Or another option might be to start a new tour....the COED TOUR.

Finally some honest comments from a golf commentator. It is not chauvinist to speak the truth. Wie and Sorenstam are victims (and beneficiaries) of publicity seeking sponsors. All these comments would not be necessary if these players would be made to qualify for tournaments like all male players, get and keep their tour cards, make cuts, etc., and then it would be equal. The players will continue to take these exemptions and not formally enter the PGA tour because they make more money and get more publicity if they stay on the ladies tour. There is less pressure knowing you are going to make a lot of money whether you make the cut or not.I prefer not to watch this nonsense, maybe we should all boycott these sponsors and this would stop. If they enter the tour like everyone else, then I will be impressed.

Chris Baldwin is brilliant! I have written it before, do so now, and will again, I am certain. By playing "bad cop" on a contentious issues, he encourages the readers to comment, to accuse, to vilify, to calumny (stop me, please!). Patrick, Brent, Asur, Joe, Roy, John and the rest have all contributed to this discussion THANKS to Chris' initiative. So, to Chris' good self, who evidently wants the evil Chris fired, I say Fie, pshaaw, step off. Let Evil Chris continue to stoke the embers.
