Sorenstam, Hurst and the U.S. Women's Open
Monday July 3, 2006 | 09:12:52 165 words, 772 views
Could there be two more contrasting golfers than Annika Sorenstam and Pat Hurst in today’s playoff? Annika is the great swing technician, the golfing robot. You get three repeating swings for a quarter. Pat is all feel. She gives you that John Daly grip-it-and-rip-it look. If you met her on the first tee of your local muni, you’d say, “Damn, another day of looking for some broad’s golf ball.” That’s right before she cleaned out your wallet. Annika is the fitness fanatic, probably has sweats in her golf bag. There’s no doubt that she’s is perfect shape physically and mentally. I have serious doubts that Pat can locate the gym. But can she go 36 head-to-head with Annika, physically and mentally and then another 18? Does she still have enough at the end of about 12 hours of golf to can a four-footer to tie for the Open? Bingo! Drainsville! Who do I think will win? No idea. Who do I want to win? Take a wild guess. Comments:No Comments for this post yet... Leave a comment: |
