My newest best friend and long lost golfing buddy, Ron Mon, has made another birdie with his latest post. This time it’s on the newest qualification system for the Champions Tour, better known as the Gratuitous Retirement Tour (GRT – pronounced grunt). The latest version of the system gives aspiring senior golfers the opportunity to go through two qualifying tournaments just so they can qualify to participate in another qualifying tournament for each individual Champions Tour event. My long-lost golf buddy, Ron-Mon, is still in the process of retooling his golf swing to look and, hopefully, produce like Tiger’s. (I refer you to his previous two blogs.) Unfortunately, his training has come to somewhat of a snowy halt. For further clarification, he is my long-lost golf buddy because we almost played a round together many years in the Buffalo area.
