Sorenstam an easy choice

It’s been a solid month for the Associated Press (AP), which last week told the BCS to take its system(?) and stuff it. Essentially, the AP told the BCS to stop using its poll. Bravo. The move doesn’t automatically fix college football, but it’s a start.
The AP scored again this week when it named Annika Sorenstam as the Female Athlete of the Year for the second straight year. Time to fix the Skins Game

Apparently I wasn’t the only one who avoided last weekend’s Skins Game. About 80% of the mail so far has agreed with my assessment that the event has turned into a giant waste of time (contrary to fellow blogger Jason Scott’s assertion).
Several readers wrote in w/good ideas to change the Skins Game, with the best idea coming from R. Roland: “The skins game would be of some interest if the participants put up their own money. Otherwise it’s a joke. ”
