Finding a higher purpose for used golf pencils
Wednesday September 30, 2009 | 20:41:55 299 words, 1924 views
As a believer in recycling, I’ve always hated how golf pencils are consumed.
You see golfers casually discard them after the round. They end up on the cart barn floor, in the trash can, in the trunk of the car, anywhere really.
Considering that golf pencils are free and useful for one simple purpose, it’s hard to get too bent out of shape about it all. Still, I can’t help but wonder how many trees are wiped out by several million of these little sticks.
Turns out, there are alternative uses for all those extra pencils. My daughter’s kindergarten teacher ... full post »
Mike Vago's "Miniature Book of Miniature Golf" a big hit
Monday September 28, 2009 | 12:09:17 264 words, 1786 views

But I’ve changed my ways. I’m a convert. A towel travels with me wherever my ball goes. The reason?
The Ruletwentyone golf towel. It’s cool. It’s convenient. Most important, it works. The new towel, created by Joe Borgenicht, the founder and CEO of rulegolf, is named after Rule 21: ‘Cleaning your ball’ from the ... full post »

Monday September 7, 2009 | 19:57:55 230 words, 1892 views
What happens when you mix celebrities, golf and fishing?
A party called the 2009 Puerto Los Cabos World Cup & Celebrity Golf Tournament will break out.
The inaugural tournament is set for Oct. 10-14 in Los Cabos on the tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. For golfers who love to fish (or vice versa), this event sounds like a fabulous way to experience some of the best sport fishing and golf in the world. Puerto Los Cabos is a fairly new course (opened in 2007) with a unique twist. It features a front nine by Greg Norman and a back nine by ... full post »
