Great Sunice golf gear coming to America
The Sunice invasion is upon us.
And that’s a good thing for golfers.
The Canadian-based company is new to the U.S. market. With its reputation of creating high-caliber outerwear to combat the elements in skiing and golf, Sunice shouldn’t take long to find a home. The company believes in mixing the latest technologies with cool futuristic fashions. The complete 2010 collection featuring five categories - Hurricane, Tornado, Typhoon, Storm and Sunice Sport - can be found at www.sunice.com.
“We’re very excited about our entire 2010 Sunice Outerwear Collection, which features more technological advancements than any product line in our history,” says Mark Fletcher, president of Sunice.
A new stretch fabric, the FlexVent, highlights the 2010 Sunice Tornado Collection. FlexVent delivers what golfers crave on a rainy day, a highly breathable, flexible, lightweight material backed by a 4-year waterproof guarantee. Sunice applies Wx Tech, a new exclusive patented finish that allows air and repels water, to all its outerwear shells.
The jacket has a clean look. My Turnburry Stretch Jacket is solid blue with pockets that stand out, thanks to striping around them.
I’m most impressed with its feel. It seems softer and less rigid than some other rain jackets that feel like cheap plastic. Adjustable Velcro wrist guards, a soft-touch chin guard and waterproof zippers all but guarantee my clothes won’t get wet when I’m all tucked inside. The in-pocket ball cleaner will certainly come in handy as well.
The more expensive, higher-end version, the Hurricane Ultimate Jacket V2, features a Gore-Tex® two-layer Performance Shell with a lifetime waterproof guarantee and the Pro-Trim waist-cinching system, a feature unique to Sunice.
Sunice gear is worn by long-bomber J.B. Holmes, along with lesser-known PGA Tour pros Mark Wilson, Matt Goggin and Brad Adamonis. Holmes might not be able to blast one of his 320-yard drives with Sunice gear on, but that’s more a function of the bad weather that’s around him than the flexibility and playability of his Sunice rain gear.
