Women love their Sandbaggers shoes
What’s the ultimate litmus test for golf shoes?
I think my wife’s new SandBaggers just passed with flying colors.
As soon as she put on her new golf sandal, she blurted out, almost surprised: “These are so comfortable.”
Funny thing is, as comfortable as they are, the SandBaggers line of shoes is probably best known for its fashion pizzazz. But a company that’s been around for 23 years doesn’t survive with just one or the other. Both are required.
SandBaggers designs are inspired by the flare and fun of Vaudeville groups who entertained the masses more than 100 years ago. They come in all sorts of styles and almost every color of the rainbow. Most golf shoes cost roughly $135 and the sandals around $110, although there are discounted items available at hersandbaggers.com.
My wife’s Corey II Amareto sandals definitely deliver a sassy yet classy look, featuring a shiny bronze color with decorative floral patterns. The soles are lined with built-in golf spikes that provide traction on wet grass and still could easily be worn off the course as well.
But comfort is the No. 1 issue for my wife. She has arch issues with her feet, so the built-in orthotic insert on every SandBaggers shoe is a big benefit. The StepSaver orthotic shape, made of high density foam, is designed to create better stability and reduce feet fatigue. For a woman who once injured her foot while walking a marathon shopping trip in downtown Chicago, this comfort is a lifesaver.
If you’re worried about tan lines around the ankles – like most women are – SandBaggers are stitched with a soft micro-fiber sport material that allows the shoes to be worn sock-free. Sandbaggers golf shoes tend to run generous from your normal street shoe size. If you plan on wearing a very thin sock or no sock at all, it is recommended to order one half size smaller for closed toe shoe orders. For those with wide feet order your normal street shoe size.
For after golf, the Apres Golf collection offers four different styles of slip-on sandals. They’re dressy enough for dinner at a private club and casual enough for the poolside. Each pair costs roughly $40. Call 1-800-659-9607 for more information.
