Black Friday brings great deals to Walters Golf in Las Vegas and other courses, too
LAS VEGAS - Black Friday - the day after Thanksgiving - doesn’t just bring deals to the malls and retail stores of America.
There’s money to be saved on the golf course, too. The two best deals I found involve Walters Golf in Las Vegas, and surprisingly the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin.
Walters Golf is offering a Black Friday Flash Sale, its first-ever sale where you can save up to 50 percent off for advanced tee times between Dec. 3 and March 31 by pre-paying for the rounds. The bookings must be made by calling 888-427-6678. As of today, 97 of the 500 rounds at this price have been sold, so don’t delay.
Tee times at the scenic tropical-themed Bali Hai Golf Club, right on the Strip, can be made for $149 during the week and $179 on weekends. Desert Pines Golf Club, designed to mimic the Carolinas with all its pine trees, will cost $85/weekday and $99/weekend. Royal Links Golf Club, featuring replica holes from the British Open courses, will cost $119/weekday and $138/weekend. Twilight rates will also be significantly more affordable as well and rounds in December and most of January could qualify for an additional 10 percent off. On a recent trip to Las Vegas, I played both Desert Pines (photo below) and Bali Hai (photo above) and came away impressed.
A balmy couple of days in the Midwest has allowed many courses to make one last push to attract players. The higher ranked River course at Blackwolf Run and the Straits course at Whistling Straits are closed, but their sister courses are open through Sunday. Both the Irish course at Whistling Straits and Meadows Valley at Blackwolf Run can be had for a steal this weekend. Mention the promo code LAST CHANCE when booking to receive a special rate of $55 walking, $70 with golf cart. Call 800-344-2838 to book.
If I lived closer to either of these locales, I’d be jumping on these deals pronto.
