Is your game ready to challenge the PGA TOUR's toughest venues?
The pros of the PGA TOUR obviously play a different game than the rest of us.
But it’s still interesting to track the toughest courses on TOUR each year. Some of these rankings reflect the tough weather that rolled in during tournament week (i.e. Kiawah Island’s Ocean course), but for the most part, they show just how strong a challenge these layouts present to players of all levels.
I pulled out the public courses to give you a sense of which courses to avoid if you’re a high handicapper. I’m shocked that the Stadium course at the TPC Sawgrass sits so low on the list. The same goes for the TPC Blue Monster at Doral. Those two consistently eat me up. The Plantation course at Kapalua, while last on this list, is certainly no slouch, especially when the wind blows. Check out the photo above.
