Cheryl Ladd speaks for all the "Token Chicks"
Remember the blond on Charlie?s Angels? No, not Cameron Diaz. I’m talking about the vintage 1970s blue-eyeshadow disco-era Charlie?s Angels. Cheryl Ladd played the fourth angel after Farrah Fawcett ditched the show. Well apparently she?s a golfer. And a pretty funny one at that.
I just finished reading her new book, Token Chick: A Woman?s Guide to Golfing with the Boys, in which she describes her experiences playing in celebrity pro-ams and the like. She always winds up being the only female in the group, hence the title, Token Chick. As the token chick here at Blog Central, and often on the course, I can relate.
If you can get past the freakishly large-print type, there?s some good stuff in here, like the dirt she dishes about some of the celebrities and pros she?s been paired with. Burt Lancaster, for instance, refused to speak to her the first five holes of the round they played together, he was that ticked off about being paired with a girl. She says, ?I had one mission, and that was to beat his crusty old butt silly.? Which she did.
She also mentions the bad behavior of a certain Olympic gold-medalist who lost to her but welched on their bet. On the first tee he announced, “You know, I intimidate some of the PGA pros that play with me, I just hit the ball so far.” Who was this mystery jackass? And why does he remind me of Barbie? I guess blowhards come in all genders.
If there?s a Token Chick in your life, let her know about this book. I?m betting she?ll enjoy it.
Side note: Amazon helpfully volunteers that “customers who bought this book also bought Blood Brother: 33 Reasons My Brother Scott Peterson Is Guilty.” Now that?s random.

What happened to Jason Scott? Why is he perpetually on the bottom of the blog list? Has he lost interest in blogging or has he mysteriously disappeared?
I ask because my girlfriends all comment that he's the cutest blogger. I'm not sure if that's true. I think more investigation is in order.
