Big Break III's Barbie pulls out of the LPGA Corning Classic
Thursday May 26, 2005 | 09:43:58 262 words, 3773 views
It was Barbie’s last chance… Danielle Amiee of the Big Break III was supposed to tee it up today in the LPGA Corning Classic, but pulled out at the last minute, with a bunch of blah blah blah about a bad back. That’s right. Her big prize for winning Big Break III was *two* LPGA exemptions. And she’s decided not to play. Not only that, but The Golf Channel gave her the option to spend time in the booth chatting with the announcers, and her response was to refuse to take their calls. She’s refused all interviews, in fact, live or taped. What a classy gal! I was annoyed before. Now I feel like Jeff Probst when Osten walked off Survivor. Would runner-up Pam have let a “sore back” get in the way? I doubt it. And I have to wonder about the timing of her announcement. Why wait till the last minute? Just to make sure Pam doesn’t get offered the bid in her place? I’m guessing Pam, Cindy, Liz, you name it, would’ve been happy to fill in. But this wasn’t Miss America, where the runner-up gets to finish the reign if “the winner for any reason cannot fulfill her duties.” It only seemed like it. As of this writing, Sophie Gustafson is in the lead, at 6 under. Defending champion Annika Sorenstam (the most-repeated words in women’s golf) is T2 at 3 under. The Golf Channel is airing coverage of the Classic starting at 4 pm, and then replaying it each evening at 9. You can check out the full leaderboard here. Comments:

One of three possibilities:
1. Physically couldn't perform well. 2. Mentally overwhelmed and couldn't perform well. ...or 3. Stratigically opted out for another shot at a later time. Which ever the case, it was a smart decision, as she only has one more opportunity to do well. Unlike others, she has one chance right now.

There is no next time... this was her second event.. If she wants to try at a 'later time' then she's gotta earn it the old fashioned way. No More Big Break for Danielle.

Danielle annoued me on the Big Break III and there where much more deserving contestants on that show. I think the Golf Channel should take back all the prizes including the exemptions and send her on her way.

Daniel is a great person. She's a golfer and as most golfers know, there is always a way to get into your opponents head. She jacked Pam's head pretty good, but it's all apart of the game. She recognized Pam's tricks and countered with a stonger one. Back off of her! Do the thang "D".

Danielle was all but class from day 1 on TBB3. It was apparent she was the
most selfish competitor, and graceless too. While surprised she pulled out of her Big break 2, not at all surprised she refused to answer questions. She does it her way. Too bad she can't sing. She and Old blue eyes would make a great pair.

I have never been so tired of hearing a person whine and in the next breath talk so glowingly about themself. Pam should have won that contest. She was definitely the better golfer, just lest experienced. As in American Idol, time will tell who the better one is.

I don't like her so much - she's such a whiner. Out of shape, as well.
But she still has a nice ass - that's what definitively saves her :) Leave a comment: |
