Ron Mon now writing for Sports Illustrated? Sort of.

Ron the Mon’s been popping up in some surprising places lately. Most recently, it was in Sports Illustrated. Senior writer Alan Shipnuck (and author of Bud, Sweat, and Tees) pulled Ron’s letter out of his mailbag, mentioning that Ron agrees with him on, apparently, everything. Here’s a snippet:

Oh, it’s always nice to hear from an adoring public. There were a few stray voices in the wilderness who actually seem to appreciate my efforts. Ronald Montesano, of Buffalo sent this valentine: “No question, just abject agreement with every point you make. I especially support the ’smug look’ posit.”

The “smug look” posit was, of course, a reference to Shipnuck’s article: “Why shouldn’t the Players be a major? My 14 reasons.” Number 7 on the list: The smug look of satisfaction on Tim Finchem’s mug would be unbearable.

I’m with you on that, Alan and Ron. Enough about a fifth major already.

How about calling it a minor-major instead?
