Tom Bedell... from your expressed view, it appears that you and possibly Kiel Christianson are constant viewers of Keith Olbermann on MSBNC. It's just like the left to divert the focus from the real issue (the president laughing at Wanda Sykes questionable skit) to something else (him poking fun at the VP). Nice try but most folks know what's going on.

One can read articles in UK daily newspapers and letters from the public suggesting that every one of our politicians should be "hanged, drawn and quartered" and no-one would turn a hair. Obviously because no-one in their right mind would take it as a serious instigation. Any more than I take Feherty's comment as such.

Following Greg Couch's recent article (who he?), there were 1286 comments - I didn't read to the end but they were overwhelmingly in support of Feherty's comments, and out of 90,538 votes, 67% said do nothing, 21% fire him and 12% suspend.

Hope the good work he is doing for US troops will count in his favour.

One thing struck me quite forcibly, however. I know Feherty applied for US citizenship back in November (don't know if he has it yet), but NO-ONE suggested witholding it, withdrawing it, or kicking him out of US. That's impressive.

Spot on, Ms. Mario. It is telling that we must find - only "buried" in a golf blog - anyone challenging the double-standard
and hypocrisy of the MSM as they relentlessly push their idealogical drug. Worry not for Rush's kidneys; the real danger is
brain failure - in the form of a lack of independent thought and objective reasoning - as a result of this continual overdosing.
Ms. Mario's post was direct and honest. It is the reader comment - "the most misleading statements here.." - that is misleading;
insinuating that Ms. Mario mislead her readers not just once, but throughout.

As for the current administration's "refreshing" self-deprication?
Witness for yourself below. (first time seeing Bush's press dinner, eh?)

About the most misleading statements here are those that suggest the current administration can't take a joke at its expense. Witness the President's performance at the recent Correspondents Dinner, where he riffed on himself, VP Biden, the misguided flight over NYC and so on. That's the refreshing thing about this administration--its openness and willingness to poke fun at itself. Feherty? He's a funny guy, but this joke was simply over the line. He knows it. So let's move on.

But they did laugh about the halloween prank in California where they hung Palin in effigy. Bad taste and jsut as morally reprehensible as Feherty's jokes. Also, I'd look closely at some of the nasty things the Mathews and Olberman have said on MSNBC.

Amazing what liberals will accept for their opponents but frown on when it's about their own.
