I believe Tiger definitely chose some bad decisions. We are all human, and when you bring the element of fame into the mix, many people do actions they normally wouldn't. It happens in all pro sports, movie stars, pop music, etc. What Tiger did is not a unique event. It happens all the time among the famous. It will all be in the past very soon and he will be back on the course winning games, as movies stars in the same situation star in new block buster movies.

Tiger suffered the disillusion that so many celebrities face once they become famous and rich. Tiger's income is in the neighborhood of 110 million per year. He has everythin he needs or wants, and is cherished by so many. But, his apparently never fathomed a white girl clubbing the hell out of him with a 2-iron. It is really simple, he thought he was above the law, but has since learned that this is not the case.

All,

This is nothing but pure racism!! If Tiger were white, no one would care, but because he is black, it is legal for a white woman to whip the poor man with an iron. White women are trying to keep the black man down through violence. Tiger was only making new friends, who all happened to be white female blonds.

Tiger and his wife need to get together and have a beer, that would solve the issue. Tiger deserves an apology in this matter, because there is no question that this whole issue is nothing more than racism!!!

If all the world's problems could be solved with a beer or two, all would be peaceful on earth and Guinness, Bud, Coors et al would be awash in cash and would be the recipients of the Noble Peace Prize.

Nothing to do about racism. The white woman with the whipping iron, was not the role model.

Don't confuse golf with PGA Tour golf. Will the PGA Tour (its participants, brass and sponsors) feel the pinch? You bet. But as far as the game we mortals play, the mythical "Tiger Effect" never appeared, so his dropping off the radar screen shouldn't have any effect on rounds played.

Not so sure. There is something to that "trickle down" effect. The more interest in the PGA Tour, the more interest in golf in general. Rounds dropped off when Tiger dropped out. Could have been bad timing with the economy the culprit, but the "Tiger Effect" could have compounded the issue.

Katherine,

Yes, if only a beer would do it. Hey, come to think of it, maybe that's the problem with respect to terrorism. Devout Muslims don't imbibe, so you can't soothe feelings and the savage breast with a bubbly. If only they didn't have that prohibition against drinking alcohol, all would be right with the world.

Gotta go now. I'm gonna go get hammered.
