Jeong Jang better than Michelle Wie now, will always be better than Wie
Jeong Jang completed a wire-to-wire rout at the Weetabix Women’s British Open this weekend. Michelle Wie, who tied for third, obviously sucks.
I mean come on, Jeong Jang WON, didn’t she? She’s unarguably a far more gifted golfer—now and forever—than Wie, who is clearly all hype. Disagree and I will call you names.
Seriously, a real, live 15-year-old couldn’t hit a golf ball that far. Must be the hype. And we all know that hype can’t putt.
It’s all perfectly obvious.
Jang’s best finish in the same event prior to 2005 was a tie for 4th in 2002. Heads and shoulders above Wie’s third this year.
Moreover, Jang began golfing at the ripe old age of 13. She won the Korean Women’s Open at 17 as an amateur. Obviously, she’s better than the 15-year-old Wie, who has been golfing since she was four and still hasn’t ever won the Korean Women’s Open (hasn’t even entered it!).
Not to mention the height advantage. Wie’s over a foot taller than the diminutive Jang. Imagine what Jang could do with that extra height! Or maybe Wie’s too tall. That’s her parents’ fault, as well, actually.
Don’t let stats fool you: Wie finished ahead of Jang at every other major this year, but that was all in Wie’s marketing. She’s like the Wizard of Oz, for cripe’s sake!
A win is all that matters. And Jang’s got one. Wie doesn’t.
So there. Now, on to my in-depth comparison of Warren G. Harding and a tuna melt sandwich…

By the way, still feel good about going after the highest common denominator after reading Heywood I'm So Clever's comment? I'm not even a Nutty Professor and that one depressed me.
What are you guys teaching the kids today!
Its only a joke and he's pointing out how ridiculous and crazy Chris Baldwin's justifications are for bashing Michelle !
Kiel has actually been very supportive of Michelle!!
Kiel --isn't it time for you and the other bloggers to stop humoring Chris Baldwin and make him stop hanging around you guys? He's really ruining this website with his mediocrity.
I know Chris Baldwin says blog writing is his dream but there comes a time where you got to tell Anna Nicole Smith that she'll never win the Nobel Prize.
Chris, go away.
Second, your love affair for one particular golfer has me, understandably, worried. Jang seems to be a great golfer, but she cannot stir the golf world like Wie can. You sound like you’re in kindergarten. At least, you write like one. Go back to elementary school and learn to write more respectably (I hear Baldwin is good) !!!!!!
Jay--you got Kiel Christianson's article all wrong--see my post above...
Yup, old "Baldy" should apply for a full professorship in the College of Logical Thinking. Might I suggest the CLT Dept at the University of Colorado. He can join professor Churchill because they have much in common, "Delusions of Grandeur".
Baldwin can use ultimately trendy nickname of Topher; Christianson can use Hull or Keel or some other nautical motif.
Actually, that's my only reason. I have no tongue nor cheek.
It is not Paula Creamer who is better than Michelle Wie now and forever. It is not Jeong Jang. It is Birdie Kim who is better than Michelle Wie now, and who will always be better than Michelle Wie. Indeed, Birdie Kim is so great she knew better than to perform well in some stupid froggy or limey tournament--which is something else that Michelle Wie needs to learn.
A lot of people are calling Michelle Wie a loser. This is true--but most people fail to truly understand what it means to be a loser. Sportsmanship is for losers. Being a loser has very little to do with losing--it is simply another term for being a good sport.
If anyone watched the US Open you may have seen the most extreme act of goodsportsmanship ever seen in this country. When Birdie Kim sank her miracle chip to win the Open, Michelle Wie's good friend and fellow American amateur Morgan Pressel was denied a victory in the biggest tournament in women's golf. Can you even begin to imagine how much it must have hurt Michelle to see her good friend Morgan denied that prize.
But did Michelle express anger or hurt or any other negative emotion. No she did not. Hiding her sadness for her good friend Morgan Pressel, she reached out in joy towards Birdie Kim, congratulating the Birdie Kim with a sincerity rarely seen in anyone--and certainly never in a winner.
Michelle Wie will be on David Letterman August 8 Monday
and Good Morning America the next morning Aug. 9 :)
Does Paula counter with AAA None Better Creamer? Where does it end? People will start using animal names..like Tiger.
